Handling Incoming Calls58 DBS 576 issued March 2001 576-40-750USING CALL HOLDDepending on the set up of your system, you can put one or more calls on hold andretrieve those calls using the HOLD key or a designated Floating Hold key.Notes:• The Floating Hold feature assigns a Floating Hold number (001-576 for DBS576) (001-096 for DBS 576HD) to a specific FF key. By placing a call onhold using the Floating Hold key, you can retrieve the call from any phonethat has an FF key that is assigned the same Floating Hold number or bysimply entering the Floating Hold number.• Floating Hold requires system programming.• The EXT indicator flashes when you hold an internal call or an outside linethat is not assigned to an FF key.• If you do not pick up a held call in a certain period of time, you will hear atone indicating that the call is still waiting.1.
