- 15 -[Battery Pack]For Appropriate Use ofBattery pack• For optimum battery life, store the Li-ion battery pack following use withoutcharging it.• When charging the battery pack, confirm that the terminals on thebattery charger are free of foreignsubstances such as dust and wateretc. Clean the terminals beforecharging the battery pack if any for-eign substances are found on theterminals. The life of the battery pack terminalsmay be affected by foreign sub-stances such as dust and water etc.during operation.• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objectslike: paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objectsthat can make a connection from oneterminal to another.Shorting the battery terminals togethermay cause sparks, burns or a fire.• When operating the battery pack, make sure the work place is well ven-tilated.• When the battery pack is removedfrom the main body of the tool, replacethe battery pack cover immediately inorder to prevent dust or dirt from con-taminating the battery terminals andcausing a short circuit.Battery Pack LifeThe rechargeable batteries have alimited life. If the operation time be-comes extremely short after recharg-ing, replace the battery pack with anew one.Battery RecyclingATTENTION:For environmental protection andrecycling of materials, be sure thatit is disposed of at an officially as-signed location, if there is one inyour country.[Battery Charger]ChargingCautions• If the temperature of the batterypack falls approximately below−10°C (14°F), charging will auto-matically stop to prevent degrada-tion of the battery.• The ambient temperature range is be-tween 0°C (32°F) and 40°C (104°F).If the battery pack is used when thebattery temperature is below 0°C(32°F), the tool may fail to functionproperly.• Use the charger at temperatures be-tween 0°C and 40°C, and charge thebattery at a temperature similar to thatof the battery itself. (There should beno more than a 15°C difference be-tween the temperatures of the batteryand the charging location.)• When charging a cool battery pack(below 0°C (32°F)) in a warm place, leave the battery pack at the placeand wait for more than one hour towarm up the battery to the level ofthe ambient temperature.• Cool down the charger whencharging more than two batterypacks consecutively.• Do not insert your fingers into contacthole, when holding charger or anyother occasions.StorageDo not store the dust collection cupin a compressed position. If kept ina compressed position, it may beimpossible to return to the originalshape.
