3GENERAL SAFETYWARNING! Read all instructions. Failureto follow all instructions listed below mayresult in electric shock, fire and/or seriousinjury. The term “Power Tool”in all of thewarnings listed below refers to your mainsoperated (corded) power tool or batteryoperated (cordless) power tool.!1. WORK AREA SAFETYa) Keep work area clean and well lit.Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.b) Do not operate power tools in explosiveatmospheres, such as in the presence offlammable liquids, gases or dust. Powertools create sparks which may ignite the dustor fumes.c) Keep children and bystanders awaywhile operating a power tool. Distractionscan cause you to lose control.2. ELECTRICAL SAFETYa) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.Never modify the plug in any way. Donot use any adapter plugs with earthed(grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugsand matching outlets will reduce risk ofelectric shock.b) Avoid body contact with earthedor grounded surfaces such as pipes,radiators, ranges and refrigerators.There is an increased risk of electric shock ifyour body is earthed or grounded.c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wetconditions. Water entering a power tool willincrease the risk of electric shock.d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use thecord for carrying, pulling or unplugging thepower tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil,sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged orentangled cords increase the risk of electrice) When operating a power tool outdoors,use an extension cord suitable for outdooruse. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor usereduces the risk of electric shock.f) If operating a power tools in a damplocation is unavoidable, use a residualcurrent device (RCD) protected supply.Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electricshock.3. PERSONAL SAFETYa) Stay alert, watch what you are doingand use common sense when operating apower tool. Do not use a power tool whileyou are tired or under the influence ofdrugs, alcohol or medication. A moment ofinattention while operating power tools mayresult in serious personal injury.b) Use safety equipment. Always weareye protection. Safety equipment such asdust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat,or hearing protection used for appropriateconditions will reduce personal injuries.c) Prevent accidental starting. Ensure theswitch is in the off position before pluggingin. Carrying power tools with your finger onthe switch or plugging in power tools thathave the switch on invites accidents.d) Remove any adjusting key or wrenchbefore turning the power tool on. A wrenchor a key left attached to a rotating part of thepower tool may result in personal injury.e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footingand balance at all times. This enables bettercontrol of the power tool in unexpectedsituations.f) Dress properly. Do not wear looseclothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,clothing and gloves away from movingparts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long haircan be caught in moving parts.g) If devices are provided for theconnection of dust extraction andcollection facilities, ensure these areconnected and properly used. Use of thesedevices can reduce dust related hazards.tools.
