PWR key. Turns system on and off.BRIGHTNESS key (double-arrow keyon upper left of the display).Adjusts the screen for thecurrent lighting conditions.SAVE key. Saves your vessel’s posi-tion instantly at any screen,during any function.MOB key. Saves your positioninstantly as a Man Over-board (MOB) waypoint.CHART function key toggle. Displaystwo CHART screens.STAR function key. When pressedrepeatedly, displays screensincluding echo sounder,alarms, setup, and servicefunctions.STEER function key. Displays twoscreens helping you to steerto your upcoming waypoint.TRIP function key. Displays theprogress of today’s navigation(called today’s trip).WAYPTS/ROUTES function key.Sequentially displays fourscreens for manipulatingwaypoints, routes, tracks, andavoidance points.KEYPAD (ten alphanumeric keys).Enters numbers, letters, orspecial characters.LEFT ARROW and RIGHT ARROWkeys (part of the alphanu-meric keypad). Moves thecursor to the next characteryou want to enter.IN key and OUT key. Zoom-IN dou-bles the chart scale; zoom-OUT halves the chart scale.CURSOR PAD (with left, right, up,and down arrows). Controlsthe cursor, which appears asa red or green box.MENU keys (six keys on the right sideof the display). The functionof each key depends onthe screen displayed and isshown on the screen.Waypoint Navigation on theCHART Screen1. On the CHART screen, pressthe CURSOR PAD to movethe cursor to the desired loca-tion.2. Press the CURSOR menukey on upper right of display.3. To change the coordinates,use the KEYPAD. If nochange is necessary, press theSTORE AS WAYPT/ROUTE key.4. To name the waypoint, usethe KEYPAD to enter aunique name (up to 9 charac-ters) or use the default way-point name.5. Press the MAKE NEW WAY-POINT key.Turning the Unit On and OffTo turn on the system:1. Press PWR. The followingscreens appear in order: INI-TIAL STARTUP, SYSTEMTEST, OWNER’S MESSAGE,ADVISORY MESSAGE.2. Accept the ADVISORY MES-SAGE by pressing any key.To turn off the entire system:Single control-head system:1. Press and hold the PWR keyfor 3 seconds.Dual control-head system:1. Press and hold the PWR keyfor 3 seconds until thePOWER-OFF dialog boxappears.2. On the CHART screen, pressthe CURSOR PAD to movethe cursor to the desired loca-tion.2. Press the CURSOR menukey.3. Press the GO NOW key.Using Man Overboard (MOB)ModePress the MOB key to instantlysave your position as a ManOverboard (MOB) waypoint. Thisautomatically becomes the activewaypoint. The MOB waypoint isdisplayed on the CHART screenas MOBxx, and the zoom level isautomatically set to the maxi-mum detail.
