Remove the lid containing the solar cell from the lantern and setthe power switch to ON.2. Fit the solar cell back onto the lantern.3. When placing the solar lantern outside, make sure that it hasaccess to maximum sunlight for charging purposes and is notaffected by other light sources such as street lights.4. The light bulb in the lantern comes on automatically at dusk/inthe dark (as long as the battery has been charged) and turns offat dawn/when it’s light.Care and maintenance• Clean the product using a damp cloth. Use only mild cleaningagents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals. Be careful not todamage the solar cell.• If the battery in the solar cell unit needs to be replaced:1. Remove the screwholding the batterycover in place.2. Remove the cover andchange the battery(1 × 1.2 V, AA 800mAh NiMH). Followthe markings inthe battery compartmentto ensure correctpolarity.The battery must only be replaced with an equivalentrechargeable battery.3. Refit the battery cover.Responsible disposalThis symbol indicates that this product should not bedisposed of with general household waste. This appliesthroughout the entire EU. In order to prevent anyharm to the environment or health hazards caused byincorrect waste disposal, the product must be handedin for recycling so that the material can be disposed ofin a responsible manner.
