17NAVMAN Fishfinder User ManualSetup MenuThe setup menu enables you to customise the‘look and feel’ of the instrument. There are sixparameters that can be adjusted. Lamp intensity,units of measure, keel offset, training mode, LCDcontrast and white line operation.Lamp Intensity The intensity of the night visionlights can be adjusted from 1 to 7 and OFF.Units Of Measure Depth can be displayed ineither feet (FT), meters (M), or fathoms (FA).Keel Offset The depth of water is normallymeasured from the face of the transducerto the bottom. You can enter an offset whichwill be added or subtracted from thecalculated depth before it is displayed onthe LCD. Entering a negative offset can beused to display the depth of water below thekeel. Entering a positive offset can be usedto show depth from the surface to the bottom.When entering zero as an offset, thefishfinder will display depth of water belowthe transducer.Training Mode This setting will enable asimulation mode which allows you to learnto use all the different features in thisinstrument.LCD Contrast You can adjust contrast levelfrom 0 to 7 to match your preference. Specialcircuitry will also automatically adjust thecontrast for changes due to temperature.White Line This feature displays the bottomsignal as a thin line, with a variable widthband beneath it. This indicates the bottomhardness and also allows you to separatetargets near the bottom of the sea bed. Thisfunction will also remove most surface echosignals from the top of the screen.Changing the setup functions• Press the ∗ key until the setup menu isdisplayed• Press either the key or the key tomove the pointer to the required setup item• Use the V or the ^ key to adjust thesetting to the desired value• Press the key to accept the choiceand return to normal display mode
