15z Lift the front ice cube container andpull it out.Caution!A full ice cube container is heavy!z Pull out the container, empty andclean with lukewarm water.z Thoroughly rub the container andendless screw transportationmechanism (Agitation function)dry so that new ice cubes cannotfreeze to them.z Push the ice cube container all theway back onto the supports until itlocks into position.z If the container cannot be pushedall the way back, twist the screwconveyor in the container.Ice cube production continues.Locking the ice and waterdispenserIn order to secure the ice and waterdispenser against unintentional useactivate the childproof lock.z Keep the lock button on the iceand water dispenser control panelpressed for 3 seconds.It is not possible to actuate buttonson the ice and water dispenser.For resetting operation of the buttons:z Keep the lock button on the ice andwater dispenser control panelpressed for 3 seconds.How to save energy– Install the appliance in a cool, wellventilated room, but not in directsunlight and not near a heat source(radiator, cooker, etc.). If required,use an insulating plate.– Allow warm food and drinks to cooldown before placing in theappliance!– Thaw frozen food by placing it inthe refrigerator. The low tempera-ture of the frozen food will thencool the food in the refrigeratorcompartment.– Open the appliance door as brieflyas possible.Operating noisesNormal operating noisesHumming – refrigerating unit is running.The fan in the circulating air system isrunning.Bubbling, gurgling or whirring noises— refrigerant is flowing through thetubing.Clicking — motor is switching on or off.Noises which can beeasily rectifiedThe appliance is not levelAllign the appliance with the aidof a spirit level.Use the height-adjustable feet or placesomething under the feet.Drawers, baskets or storage areasare loose or stickingPlease check the removable parts and,if required, reinsert them.Receptacles are touching each otherPlease move bottles or receptaclesaway from each other.Thawing theapplianceThe appliance starts to defrostautomatically.Switching off anddisconnecting theapplianceSwitching off theappliancez Press the on/off button .Disconnectingthe applianceIf the appliance is not used fora prolonged period:z Take all food out of the appliance.z Pull out the mains plug or switch offthe fuse.z Empty the ice cube holder(see “Ice maker”, page 13).z Clean the appliance interior(see “Cleaning the appliance”,page16).z To prevent odours, leave the doorsopen.
