With the introduction of the L 70 DVD/CD Surround Sound Receiver,NAD now offers the level of performance associated with its highlyacclaimed full-size separates in an elegant, compact design. Designed tocomplement today's advanced video displays, its gleaming Titanium fin-ish and elegant proportions make a sophisticated design statement. Andunlike most other "all-in-one" systems, the NAD performs like an awardwinning NAD separate component. We have not made any performancecompromises in our quest for convenience and style. The Command Center for an Advanced SurroundSound SystemBy combining the DVD/CD player and digital surround sound receiver inone elegant package, one needs only to add the TV monitor and sur-round sound speaker package to the NAD L 70 to have theater qualitysound in any room of the home. The L 70 is ideal for apartment andcondominium dwellers, and makes for an outstanding bedroom orrecreation room system. The supplied HTR-L70 Remote can operateyour TV, VCR, satellite or cable tuner, and almost any other IR remotecontrolled device. The logical layout and illuminated keys make operat-ing your AV system straightforward and enjoyable, and the HTR-L70, withit's ability to learn the remote commands of up to eight different devices, eliminates the clutter of multiple remote handsets. Unlike the "HomeTheater in a Box" systems that include speakers (usually of questionablequality), the NAD L 70 allows complete freedom to choose speakers thatfit your decor and suite your taste in sound.PerformanceThe NAD engineers concentrated only on the truly important parts of asurround sound system. As the new surround sound formats allow forthe same wide bandwidth and large dynamic range for the rear channelsas for the front channels, all five channels are capable of putting out anequal and substantial amount of power. As usual with NAD, the L 70uses discrete output stages only, including the surround channels. Thebenefits of this approach have been proven over the years in manyacclaimed NAD amplifiers and receivers. Most products in this categoryare using digital IC amplifier modules, which allow for a very slim-linedesign, but cannot meet even the most basic hi-fi specs for noise anddistortion. What's more, these amplifiers can only put out a very modestamount of power, far too little for a satisfying cinematic or musical per-formance. And to make matters even worse, these digital IC amplifiersused by our competitors cannot accurately drive real world speakers dueto their poor tolerance of low impedance loads and almost total lack ofdynamic power. As one would expect from NAD, only high quality components have beenused, such as high resolution ADCs (Analogue-to-Digital Converter) andDACs (Digital-to-Analogue Converter) from renowned manufacturerCirrus Logic, to obtain the best possible performance.FlexibilityEven though the L 70 DVD/CD Surround Sound Receiver may be far morecompact than a separate DVD Player and Receiver of comparable perfor-mance, it still is very flexible. Three additional video sources (one front panelaccessible - perfect for cameras and game consoles) and a 6 channel audiosource can be connected (with the built-in tuner and DVD/CD player thatpotentially gives you access to six sources) of which two also offer S-Videoinputs. Besides the Composite Monitor output, the L 70 also has an S-Videoand Component/SCART RGB output as well. Two digital inputs (one optical, one coaxial) are provided, and, for easy transferring to a CD recorder or otherdigital recording device, the L 70 also sports an optical digital output. Ratherthan using spring clips for loudspeaker cable connection, as usually found oncompact systems, the L 70 offers high quality loudspeaker binding posts, more associated with top-of-the-range full-size AV receivers. A preamp-leveloutput for connection to a powered subwoofer is provided as well.• 5 x 45W Simultaneous Continuous Output Power into 8 ohms • 2 x 60W in Stereo mode• 82W IHF Dynamic Power into 8 ohms • Dolby Digital, DTS, ProLogic II - Music - Movie -Emulation , EARS and Stereo Enhanced Surround Modes • Plays DVD-Video, CD, CD-R, CD-RW,VCD/SVCD• MP-3 decoder integrated • Full-size separate component performance • CrystalSigma-Delta ADCs and DACs with 96kHz/24 bit resolution • Subwoofer Output • Satellite andVCR Inputs, 5.1 Input for future surround mode upgrades • 2 Digital Inputs: 1 RCA; 1 TOSLink • 2 S-Video Inputs and 1 S-Video output • VCR & TV Outputs including Component (120VDVD only) or SCART (230V DVD only) • 1 TOS Link Digital Output • MPEG-2 decoder •PAL/NTSC compatible (230V version only) • Auto switch from PCM to Bitstream • Audiophile qualityDACs • RDS Tuner (RDS PS & RDS RT) • 60 Presets for AM and FM • Component Video Output •SCART with RGB and Composite Video Output (230V version only) • All RCA sockets gold-plated • 12V Trigger Output • HTR-L70 Learning System Remote with illuminated keysL 70 DVD/CD Surround Sound Receiver |
