You will find a detailed description how to mount the interface optionunit in the FR-A8NCG instruction manual and the FR-A800 and FR-F800 fre-quency inverter instruction manuals. Unfasten the lower screws on the front of the inverter and remove the frontlower cover. Remove the front top cover in the same manner. Insert three spacers into the mounting holes that will not be filled withmounting screws. Fit the board mounted option connector on this product to the guide ofthe option connector on the inverter and insert the plug-in option as far asit goes. (Select option connector 1 on the inverter.) Fasten the earth plate to the inverter using the one mounting screwthrough the hole on the left side. Fasten this product to the inverter using the one mounting screw throughthe hole on the left side. Fasten the earth plate and this product to theinverter using the last screw through the hole on the right side of the earthplate and this product. Connect the Ethernet cables to the network connectors on the option unit.PORT1 and PORT2 do not need to be distinguished. When only one connector is used in star topology, either PORT1 or PORT2is applicable. When using two connectors for line topology, an Ethernet cable can beconnected to the connectors in any combination. For example, the cablecan be connected between PORT1s or between PORT1 and PORT2.Cut off the hooks on the rear of the inverter front cover with a nipper etc.,and remove the lid. Place the Communication option LED display cover inthe empty position.Reinstall the front covers, giving safe passage for the network cables. Theoption unit is now installed and ready for configuration.Attach power cable and supply power to configure the inverter and theoption unit.Package ContentsFrequencyInvertersP DANGER:Personnel health and injury warnings.Failure to observe the precautions described here can resultin serious health and injury hazards.E CAUTION:Equipment and property damage warnings.Failure to observe the precautions described here can resultin serious damage to the equipment or other property.P DANGER● Cut off all phases of the power source externally before starting theinstallation or wiring work, thus avoiding electric shock or damages tothe product.● After disconnecting the power wait for at least 10 minutes beforeinstalling option units to allow the power capacitors in the inverter todischarge to a safe level.● The inverter must be grounded with a proper earth connector con-forming to all national and local safety regulations and standards (JIS,NEC Section 250, IEC 61140 Class 1 and other standards).● Do not remove any components unless explicitly instructed to do so inthis manual. Failure to observe this warning can result in damage tothe inverter.E WARNING● Only operate the inverter and the option units within the environmen-tal parameters specified in the inverter manual. Take steps to ensurethat neither the inverter nor the option units are exposed to dust, oilspray, corrosive and flammable gases, intense vibrations and physicalshocks, high temperatures, condensation or damp.● When drilling screw holes or wiring, cutting chips or wire chips shouldnot enter ventilation slits. Such an accident may cause fire, failure ormalfunction.● Do not touch any of the inverter‘s live components, such as the connec-tion terminals or plug connectors.● The inverter housing gets very hot during operation. To avoid burnsdo not touch the inverter when it is turned on and wait for a shortperiod after its power supply has been switched off before touchingthe housing.● To avoid damage due to static electricity, static electricity in your bodymust be discharged before you touch the product.NOTEWhen a communication option is installed to the FR-A800-E/FR-F800-E seriesinverter, use the earthing (grounding) cable supplied with the inverter insteadof the earth plate supplied with the communication option.Inverter side option connectorSpacerSpacerSpacerEarth plateMounting screwSpacerSpacerMounting screwMounting screwConnector 2Connector 3Connector 1Do not insert theplug-in option toconnector 2 or 3.SpacerEarth plateItem No. of piecesPCB board 1M3 x 8 mm screw 3Board spacer 3Communication option LED display cover 1Earth plate 1Connectors forcommunicationTo the nextconnector forcommunication(PORT2)Connection betweenPORT1 and PORT1, PORT2 and PORT2Connection betweenPORT1 and PORT2(PORT2) (PORT1)To the nextconnector forcommunication(PORT2)Connectors forcommunication(PORT2) (PORT1)Connectors forcommunication(PORT2) (PORT1)Connectors forcommunication(PORT2) (PORT1)HooksHooksCommunication option LED display cover |
