Ice Machine Operation Section 33-2Ice Thickness AdjustmentQM-30 dice ice cube formation is slightly differentfrom our previous models. Manitowoc icemachines have a unique cube shape. It is normal tohave a dimple in the ice cube (a concave indentationin the cube). Ice cubes from the QM-30 may appearto have a slightly larger dimple than otherManitowoc dice cube machines. Therefore, cubesize for the QM-30 is determined by measuring theslab weight (the combined weight of all cubes fromone harvest cycle). To determine proper slabweight follow the instructions listed below.Correct Ice Bridge Thickness1. Ensure the air filter, front, and back panels areinstalled properly and close the bin door.2. During the third harvest cycle open the bin doorand catch the entire slab of ice.3. Weigh the ice slab. The combined weight of allcubes from one harvest should weigh between200 - 270g (7 - 9-oz). If the slab weight iswithin this range, the ice machine is workingproperly and no further action is needed. If theslab weight is not within this range or you desirea slightly thicker or thinner cube, continue tostep four.WARNINGDo not touch electrical wires. Disconnect power tothe ice machine before making any ice thicknessadjustments.4. Remove the air filter.5. Remove the two screws holding the front panelin place and remove the front cover.6. Locate the ice thickness control dial on thecontrol board (see below). Turn the dialclockwise for a thicker cube or counterclockwise for a thinner cube.Ice Thickness Adjustment Dial7. Assure all of the panels and air filter arereinstalled properly and the bin door is closed.Repeat steps one through three. After completing the procedure above, if you areunable to obtain a sheet of ice weighing 200 - 270g(7 - 9-oz) contact the Manitowoc ServiceDepartment for further assistance.sv1709sv1710ICE THICKNESSADJUSTMENT DIALDIAL IS FACTORYSET TO ZEROICE BRIDGE SHOULD BE 1.5 MMTO 3.2 MM THICKNESSA DIMPLE IN EACHCUBE CELL ISNORMAL
