60 Part Number 80-1479-3 10/10Discharge Line Temperature AnalysisGeneralCompressor discharge line temperature on a normallyoperating ice machine steadily increases throughoutthe freeze cycle. Comparing the temperatures overseveral cycles will result in a consistent maximumdischarge line temperature.Ambient air temperatures affect the maximumdischarge line temperature.Higher ambient air temperatures at the condenser =higher discharge line temperatures at the compressor.Lower ambient air temperatures at the condenser =lower discharge line temperatures at the compressor.Regardless of ambient temperature, the freeze cycledischarge line temperature will be higher than 71°C ona normally operating ice machine.ProcedureConnect a temperature probe on the compressordischarge line within 6" of the compressor.Observe the discharge line temperature for the last tenminutes of the freeze cycle and record the maximumdischarge line temperature.
