5a) Maintain a firm grip on the power tool andposition your body and arm to allow you toresist kickback forces. Always use auxiliaryhandle, if provided, for maximum control overkickback or torque reaction during start-up. Theoperator can control torque reactions or kickbackforces, if proper precautions are taken.b) Never place your hand near the rotatingaccessory. Accessory may kickback over yourhand.c) Do not position your body in the area wherepower tool will move if kickback occurs.Kickback will propel the tool in direction opposite tothe wheel’s movement at the point of snagging.d) Use special care when working corners,sharp edges etc. Avoid bouncing and snaggingthe accessory. Corners, sharp edges or bouncinghave a tendency to snag the rotating accessory andcause loss of control or kickback.e) Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving bladeor toothed saw blade. Such blades createfrequent kickback and loss of controlSafety Warnings Specific for Grinding Operation:16. Use only wheel types that are recommendedfor your power tool and the specific guarddesigned for the selected wheel. Wheels forwhich the power tool was not designed cannot beadequately guarded and are unsafe.Safety Warnings Specific for Sanding Operations:17. Do not use excessively oversized sanding discpaper. Follow manufacturersrecommendations, when selecting sandingpaper. Larger sanding paper extending beyondthe sanding pad presents a laceration hazard andmay cause snagging, tearing of the disc orkickback.Additional safety warnings:18. Always use a sanding disc or offset diamondwheel specifically designed for wet operation.19. Always install the dust cover before operation.20. Make sure that the wheel is not contacting theworkpiece before the switch is turned on.21. Before using the tool on an actual workpiece,let it run for a while. Watch for vibration orwobbling that could indicate poor installationor a poorly balanced wheel.22. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)protection should be provided on the circuit(s)or outlet(s) to be used for the tool. Receptaclesare available having built-in GFCI protectionand may be used for this measure of safety.23. For additional protection against electricshock, be sure to WEAR RUBBER GLOVESAND RUBBER BOOTS during operation.24. When using the water feed, be careful not tolet water get into the motor. If water runs intothe motor, an electric shock hazard may result.25. PROPER GROUNDING. This tool should begrounding while in use to protect the operatorfrom electric shock.26. EXTENSION CORDS. Use only three-wireextension cords which have three-pronggrounding-type plugs and three-polereceptacles which accept the tool’s plug.Replace or repair damaged or worn cordimmediately.27. Check the backing pad carefully for cracks,damage or deformity before operation.Replace cracked, damaged or deformed padimmediately.28. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the toolonly when hand-held.29. Always be sure that the tool is switched offand unplugged or that the battery cartridge isremoved before carrying out any work on thetool.30. Do not touch the workpiece or the offsetdiamond wheel immediately after operation; itmay be extremely hot and could burn yourskin.31. Check that the workpiece is properlysupported.32. Pay attention that the wheel continues torotate after the tool is switched off.33. Do not use the tool on any materialscontaining asbestos.34. Ensure that ventilation openings are kept clearwhen working in dusty conditions.
