If you find a problem that is not explained in the manual,do not attempt to dismantle the tool, machine, or unit. Instead, ask Makita Authorized Service Centers, always usingMakita replacement parts for repairs.State of abnormality Main power lamp Cause RemedyThe tool or machine doesnot start.- The charger is connected tothe unit.Remove the charger fromthe unit.The lamp lights up in green. The adapters are not installedto the tool or machine.Install the adapters to the toolor machine.Check that the adapters areinstalled securely.The tool or machine, or thecords of the adapters areoverheated.Cool down the tool or machine,unit and adapter. After coolingdown, power off and thenpower on again.The tool or machine, or the unitis broken.Ask Makita Authorized ServiceCenters for repair.The lamp blinks in green. The plug of the adapter orpower tool/machine and thesocket of the battery are notconnected.Connect the plug and thesocket.Check that the plug and socketare connected securely.The unit is overheated, or thetemperature of the unit is low.Cool down the unit, or warmup the unit.The remaining battery capacityis not enough.Charge the battery.The lamp blinks in red andgreen alternately.The unit has detected anabnormality.Turn off the unit, and thenback on.The tool or machine, or the unitis broken.Ask Makita Authorized ServiceCenters for repair.The lamp does not light up.
