How-ever, when performing left bevel cuts, set it to the leftposition as shown in Fig. 17.Maintaining maximum cutting capacity(Fig. 18 & 19)Unplug the tool before any adjustment is attempted. This tool is factory adjusted to provide the max. cut-ting capacity for a 260 mm saw blade. When thediameter of the blade has been reduced due tosharpening, adjust the depth adjusting bolt by turningit with the socket wrench. The saw blade is loweredby turning the depth adjusting bolt counterclockwiseand raised by turning it clockwise. Adjust so thatwhen the handle is in the fully lowered position, therewill be a distance of about 135 mm from the front faceof the guide fence to the point where the front edge ofthe blade enters the kerf. With the tool unplugged, rotate the blade by hand while holding the handle allthe way down. Be sure that the blade does not con-tact any part of the lower base when the handle islowered completely.Positioning for adjusting the miter angle(Fig. 20)Loosen the grip by turning counterclockwise. Turn theturn base while pressing down the latch spring. When you have moved the grip to the position wherethe pointer indicates the desired angle on the miterscale, securely tighten the grip clockwise.CAUTION:When turning the turn base, be sure to raise the han-dle fully.Positioning for adjusting the bevel angle(Fig. 21 & 22)The saw blade tilts up to 45° to the left only when thesub-fence is set to the left position as shown inFig. 17. To adjust the bevel angle, loosen the lever atthe rear of the tool. Tilt the blade to the left so that thepointer indicates the desired angle on the bevelscale. Then tighten the lever firmly to secure the arm.CAUTION:When tilting the saw blade, be sure to raise the han-dle fully.Securing workpieceWARNING:It is extremely important to always secure the work-piece properly and tightly with the vise. Failure to doso can cause the tool to be damaged and/or theworkpiece to be destroyed. PERSONAL INJURYMAY ALSO RESULT. Insert the vise rod into the hole in theguide fence or the holder assembly and tightenthe screw to secure the vise rod. Position thevise arm according to the thickness and shape ofthe workpiece and secure the vise arm by tight-ening the screw. Press the workpiece flat againstthe guide fence and the turn base. Position theworkpiece at the desired cutting position andsecure it firmly by tightening the clamp screw. |
