8 ENGLISHTorque limiterThe torque limiter actuates when torque reaches a cer-tain level. The motor disengages from the output shaft.When this happens, the bit stops turning.CAUTION:• As soon as the torque limiter actuates, switchoff the tool immediately. This helps to preventpremature wear of the tool.Indicator lamp► Fig.8: 1. Power-ON indicator lamp (green)2. Service indicator lamp (red)The green power-ON indicator lamp lights up when thetool is plugged in. If the indicator lamp does not light up,the mains cord or the controller may be defective.When the indicator lamp lights up but the tool does notstart even the tool is switched on, the carbon brushesmay be worn out, or the controller, the motor or the ON/OFF switch may be defective.If above symptoms occur, stop using the tool immedi-ately and ask your local service center.The red service indicator lamp lights up when the car-bon brushes are nearly worn out to indicate that the toolneeds servicing. After some period of use, the motorautomatically shuts off.ASSEMBLYCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before carrying out any work on the tool.Side handle► Fig.9CAUTION:• Use the side handle only when chipping, scalingor demolishing. Do not use it when drilling inconcrete, masonry, etc. The tool cannot be heldproperly with this side handle when drilling.► Fig.10: 1. Side handle 2. Clamp nutThe side handle can be swung 360° on the vertical andsecured at any desired position. It also secures at eightdifferent positions back and forth on the horizontal.Just loosen the clamp nut to swing the side handle to adesired position. Then tighten the clamp nut securely.Side gripCAUTION:• Always use the side grip to ensure operatingsafety when drilling in concrete, masonry, etc.► Fig.11: 1. Side gripThe side grip swings around to either side, allowingeasy handling of the tool in any position. Loosen theside grip by turning it counterclockwise, swing it to thedesired position and then tighten it by turning clockwise.Installing or removing the bit► Fig.12: 1. Bit shank 2. Bit greaseClean the bit shank and apply bit grease before install-ing the bit.► Fig.13: 1. Bit 2. Release coverInsert the bit into the tool. Turn the bit and push it in untilit engages.If the bit cannot be pushed in, remove the bit. Pull therelease cover down a couple of times. Then insert thebit again. Turn the bit and push it in until it engages.After installing, always make sure that the bit is securelyheld in place by trying to pull it out.► Fig.14: 1. Bit 2. Release coverTo remove the bit, pull the release cover down all theway and pull the bit out.Bit angle (when chipping, scaling ordemolishing)► Fig.15: 1. Change lever 2. PointerThe bit can be secured at 24 different angles. Tochange the bit angle, rotate the change lever so thatthe pointer points to the symbol. Turn the bit to thedesired angle.► Fig.16: 1. Change lever 2. PointerRotate the change lever so that the pointer points tothe symbol. Then make sure that the bit is securelyheld in place by turning it slightly.Depth gauge► Fig.17: 1. Depth gauge 2. Lock buttonThe depth gauge is convenient for drilling holes ofuniform depth.Press and hold the lock button, and insert the depthgauge into the hex hole.► Fig.18Make sure the toothed side of the depth gauge facesthe marking.Adjust the depth gauge by moving it back and forthwhile pressing the lock button. After adjustment, releasethe lock button to lock the depth gauge.NOTE:• The depth gauge cannot be used at the positionwhere the depth gauge strikes against the gearhousing/motor housing.OPERATIONCAUTION:• Make sure the work material is secured andnot unstable. Flown object may cause personalinjury.• Do not pull the tool out forcibly even the bit getsstuck. Loss of control may cause injury. |
