3Preparation1. While working, always wear substantialfootwear and long trousers. Do not operatethe equipment when barefoot or wearing opensandals.2. Thoroughly inspect the area where theequipment is to be used and remove all objectswhich can be thrown up by the machine.3. Before using, always visually inspect to seethat the tools are not worn out or damaged.Replace worn out or damaged elements andbolts in sets to preserve balance.Operation1. Work only in daylight or in good artificial light.2. When working on slopes:− Make sure that there are no children orother people within a working range of 20meters (66 ft), also pay attention to anyanimals in the working vicinity. Otherwisestop using the tool.− always be sure of your footing,− work across the slopes, never up anddown,− exercise extreme caution when changingdirection on slopes.3. Do not work on excessively steep slopes.4. Walk, never run with the machine.5. Use extreme caution when reversing or pullingthe machine towards you.6. Start the motor carefully according tomanufacturer instructions and with feet wellaway from the tool(s).7. Do not put your hands or feet near or underrotating parts.8. Never pick up or carry a machine while themotor is running.9. Switch off the equipment and remove the lockkey in the cases below:− whenever you leave the machineunattended,− before clearing blockages.10. Pay particular attention on hard or stony fieldbecause the machine tends to be much lessstable than on cultivated ground and use slowspeed for ploughing.Maintenance and storage1. Before storing the machine in a confined orclosed place, let it cool down for a sufficientperiod of time.2. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to ensurethe equipment is in safe working condition.3. To reduce the fire hazard, keep the motor,battery compartment and storage area free ofvegetative material and excessive grease.4. Switch off the equipment and remove the lockkey in the cases below:− before checking, cleaning or working onthe machine,− after striking a foreign object. Inspect themachine for damage and make repairsbefore restarting and operating themachine,− if the machine starts to vibrate abnormally.Inspect for damage and replace or repairany damaged parts.
