9 ENGLISHAdditional safety instructions for gas tools1. Use the tool only with the Makita genuine gascontainer.2. Be careful when using gas tools, as the toolcan become hot, affecting grip and control.3. Gas fastener driving tools shall be used inventilated spaces.4. In the case that liquid combustible gas comesinto contact with human skin, injuries mayoccur.5. Gas containers shall be marked according tothe required transport regulation.6. Handle gas containers carefully and checkfor damages. Damaged gas containers canexplode and cause injury.7. Read and follow the instructions supplied withthe gas container.8. Ensure combustible materials are not exposedto hot exhaust gases.9. Do not use gas tools in explosive areas as thesparks generated in the tool may cause fire orexplosion.10. Gas containers should not be stored care-lessly or at high temperature. Follow the localregulations and gas container's instructionsfor handling and disposal of gas containersand batteries or accumulators.11. For gas tools, a small release of gas might begenerated by regular operations.Battery tool use and care1. Recharge only with the charger specified bythe manufacturer. A charger that is suitable forone type of battery pack may create a risk of firewhen used with another battery pack.2. Use power tools only with specifically desig-nated battery packs. Use of any other batterypacks may create a risk of injury and fire.3. When battery pack is not in use, keep it awayfrom other metal objects, like paper clips,coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metalobjects, that can make a connection from oneterminal to another. Shorting the battery termi-nals together may cause burns or a fire.4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may beejected from the battery; avoid contact. If con-tact accidentally occurs, flush with water. Ifliquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medicalhelp. Liquid ejected from the battery may causeirritation or burns.5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam-aged or modified. Damaged or modified batteriesmay exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting infire, explosion or risk of injury.6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire orexcessive temperature. Exposure to fire or tem-perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.7. Follow all charging instructions and do notcharge the battery pack or tool outside thetemperature range specified in the instruc-tions. Charging improperly or at temperaturesoutside the specified range may damage thebattery and increase the risk of fire.Safety devices1. Make sure all safety systems are in workingorder before operation. The tool must not oper-ate if only the trigger is pulled or if only the contactarm is pressed against the wood. It must work onlywhen both actions are performed. Test for possiblefaulty operation with fasteners unloaded and thepusher in fully pulled position.2. Securing the trigger in the ON position is verydangerous. Never attempt to fasten the trigger.3. Do not attempt to keep the contact elementdepressed with tape or wire. Death or seriousinjury may occur.4. Always check contact element as instructedin this manual. Fasteners may be driven acci-dentally if the safety mechanism is not workingcorrectly.Service1. Perform cleaning and maintenance right afterfinishing the job. Keep the tool in tip-top condition.Lubricate moving parts to prevent rusting and minimizefriction-related wear. Wipe off all dust from the parts.2. Ask Makita authorized service center for peri-odical inspection of the tool.3. To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY,maintenance and repairs should be performedby Makita Authorized Service Centers, alwaysusing Makita replacement parts.4. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product usingbattery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse themout with clear water and seek medical atten-tion right away. It may result in loss of youreyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain. |
