4 ENGLISH9. When using the tool, do not wear cloth workgloves which may be entangled. The entangle-ment of cloth work gloves in the moving parts mayresult in personal injury.Battery tool use and care1. Recharge only with the charger specified bythe manufacturer. A charger that is suitable forone type of battery pack may create a risk of firewhen used with another battery pack.2. Use power tools only with specifically desig-nated battery packs. Use of any other batterypacks may create a risk of injury and fire.3. When battery pack is not in use, keep it awayfrom other metal objects, like paper clips,coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metalobjects, that can make a connection from oneterminal to another. Shorting the battery termi-nals together may cause burns or a fire.4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejectedfrom the battery; avoid contact. If contact acci-dentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contactseyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejectedfrom the battery may cause irritation or burns.5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam-aged or modified. Damaged or modified batteriesmay exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting infire, explosion or risk of injury.6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire orexcessive temperature. Exposure to fire or tem-perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.7. Follow all charging instructions and do notcharge the battery pack or tool outside thetemperature range specified in the instruc-tions. Charging improperly or at temperaturesoutside the specified range may damage thebattery and increase the risk of fire.Service1. Have your power tool serviced by a qualifiedrepair person using only identical replacementparts. This will ensure that the safety of the powertool is maintained.2. Never service damaged battery packs. Serviceof battery packs should only be performed by themanufacturer or authorized service providers.3. Follow instruction for lubricating and chang-ing accessories.Cordless Planer Safety Warnings1. Wait for the cutter to stop before setting thetool down. An exposed rotating cutter mayengage the surface leading to possible loss ofcontrol and serious injury.2. Use clamps or another practical way to secureand support the workpiece to a stable plat-form. Holding the workpiece by your hand oragainst the body leaves it unstable and may leadto loss of control.3. Rags, cloth, cord, string and the like shouldnever be left around the work area.4. Avoid cutting nails. Inspect for and remove allnails from the workpiece before operation.5. Use only sharp blades. Handle the blades verycarefully.6. Be sure the blade installation bolts aresecurely tightened before operation.7. Hold the tool firmly with both hands.8. Keep hands away from rotating parts.9. Before using the tool on an actual workpiece,let it run for a while. Watch for vibration orwobbling that could indicate poor installationor a poorly balanced blade.10. Make sure the blade is not contacting theworkpiece before the switch is turned on.11. Wait until the blade attains full speed beforecutting.12. Always switch off and wait for the blades tocome to a complete stop before any adjusting.13. Never stick your finger into the chip chute.Chute may jam when cutting damp wood.Clean out chips with a stick.14. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the toolonly when hand-held.15. Always change both blades or covers on thedrum, otherwise the resulting imbalance willcause vibration and shorten tool life.16. Use only Makita blades specified in thismanual.17. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain. |
