Extension wand (Straight pipe)MAINTENANCECAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore attempting to perform inspection ormaintenance.To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY,repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment shouldbe performed by Makita Authorized or Factory ServiceCenters, always using Makita replacement parts.After useCAUTION: Putting the cleaner against thewall without any other support may cause thecleaner to fall down, resulting in personal injuryor damage to the cleaner.► Fig.30CleaningCAUTION: Clean filters when they becomeclogged. Continuing use in the clogged conditionmay result in heating or fire.NOTICE: Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation orcracks may result.NOTICE: Do not blow dust sticking on thecleaner and filters by air duster. It brings dust intothe housing and causes failure.NOTICE: After washing filters, dry them thor-oughly before use. Insufficiently dried filters maycause poor suction and shorten the service life of themotor.NOTICE: After cleaning filters and sponge filter,be sure to re-install them before use. If you use thecleaner without filters and sponge filter, dust comesinto the motor housing and cause malfunction.Cleaner bodyFrom time to time wipe off the outside (cleaner body) ofthe cleaner using a cloth dampened in soapy water.Clean out also the suction opening and filter mountingarea.► Fig.31High performance filterWash the filter in soapy water when it is clogged withdust and the cleaner power becomes weak. Dry it outthoroughly before use.► Fig.32HEPA filterOptional accessoryNOTICE: Do not rub or scratch the HEPA filterwith hard objects such as a brush and a paddle.Clogged HEPA filter causes poor suction performance.Clean out the filter from time to time.Occasionally wash the HEPA filter in water, rinse anddry thoroughly in the shade before use. Never wash thefilter in a washing machine.► Fig.33Sponge filterWhen the sponge filter becomes dirty, clean it asfollows.1. Remove filters that cover the stay.2. Pull out the sponge filter from between the pillars.3. Clean the sponge filter by tapping or washing. Ifyou wash it, dry it out thoroughly before use.4. Insert the sponge filter between the pillars and setit in the original position. Make sure that each bottomedge of the pillar holds down the sponge filter, andthere is no gap between the sponge filter and suctionopening.► Fig.34: 1. Sponge filter 2. Bottom edge of pillarWall mount for cordless cleanerOptional accessoryNOTE: The screw to mount the holder is not included.Prepare a screw which fits with the material to screwinto.Attach the wall mount for cordless cleaner to a hardwooden wall, beam or column, where the wall mountfor cordless cleaner can be firmly secured. Always besure that the wall mount for cordless cleaner is securelyattached before hanging the cleaner.► Fig.35: 1. Wall mount for cordless cleanerCAUTION: Do not hang the cleaner to the wallmount violently or hang other appliances than thecleaner. |
