11 ENGLISHFUNCTIONALDESCRIPTIONCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore adjusting or checking function on the tool.CAUTION: Take care not to trap finger(s)between cleaner and battery when loading bat-tery. Trapping finger(s) may cause injury.Installing or removing batterycartridgeCAUTION: Always switch off the tool beforeinstalling or removing of the battery cartridge.CAUTION: Hold the tool and the battery car-tridge firmly when installing or removing batterycartridge. Failure to hold the tool and the batterycartridge firmly may cause them to slip off your handsand result in damage to the tool and battery cartridgeand a personal injury.► Fig.1: 1. Red indicator 2. Battery cartridgeTo remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click. If you can see the red indicator asshown in the figure, it is not locked completely.CAUTION: Always install the battery cartridgefully until the red indicator cannot be seen. If not,it may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury toyou or someone around you.CAUTION: Do not install the battery cartridgeforcibly. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it isnot being inserted correctly.Tool / battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection sys-tem. This system automatically cuts off power to themotor to extend tool and battery life.The tool will automatically stop during operation if thetool or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions. In some conditions, the indication lamplights up.► Fig.2: 1. Indication lampOverload protectionWhen the tool is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current, the tool stopsautomatically and the indicator lights up for about 60seconds. In this situation, turn the tool off and stop theapplication that caused the tool to become overloaded.Then turn the tool on to restart.Overheat protectionWhen the tool/battery is overheated, the tool stops auto-matically and the battery indicator lights up for about 60seconds. The tool does not start even if you turn the toolon. In this situation, let the battery cool before turningthe tool on again.Overdischarge protectionWhen the remaining battery capacity gets low, theindicator blinks. By further use, the tool stops and theindicator lights up for about 60 seconds. If you turn thetool on, the motor runs again but stops soon. In thissituation, charge the battery cartridge.NOTE: The timing, at which the lamp lights up,depends on the temperature at work place and thebattery cartridge conditions.Indicating the remaining battery capacityOnly for battery cartridges with the indicator► Fig.3: 1. Indicator lamps 2. Check buttonPress the check button on the battery cartridge to indi-cate the remaining battery capacity. The indicator lampslight up for a few seconds.Indicator lamps RemainingcapacityLighted Off Blinking75% to 100%50% to 75%25% to 50%0% to 25%Charge thebattery.The batterymay havemalfunctioned.NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and theambient temperature, the indication may differ slightlyfrom the actual capacity.NOTE: The first (far left) indicator lamp will blink whenthe battery protection system works.Switch action► Fig.4: 1. ON/speed change button 2. OFF buttonTo start the cleaner, simply push the ON/speed changebutton. To switch off, push the OFF button.You can change the cleaner speed in three steps bypushing the ON/speed change button.The first push on this button is for high speed mode, thesecond push for max speed mode and the third push fornormal speed mode. Each push on this button repeatsthe high/max/normal speed cycle alternatively. |
