9 ENGLISHFUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION: Always be sure that the appli-ance is switched off and the battery cartridge isremoved before adjusting or checking function onthe appliance.Installing or removing battery cartridgeCAUTION: Always switch off the appliancebefore installing or removing of the batterycartridge.CAUTION: Hold the appliance and the bat-tery cartridge firmly when installing or removingbattery cartridge. Failure to hold the appliance andthe battery cartridge firmly may cause them to slip offyour hands and result in damage to the appliance andbattery cartridge and a personal injury.To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from theappliance while sliding the button on the front of thecartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click.► Fig.2: 1. Button 2. Battery cartridgeCAUTION: Always install the battery cartridgefully. If not, it may accidentally fall out of the appli-ance, causing injury to you or someone around you.CAUTION: Do not install the battery cartridgeforcibly. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it isnot being inserted correctly.Indicating the remaining battery capacityPress the check button on the battery cartridge to indi-cate the remaining battery capacity. Check buttonIndicator lamps RemainingcapacityLighted Off Blinking75% to 100%50% to 75%25% to 50%0% to 25%Charge thebattery.The batterymay havemalfunctioned.NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and theambient temperature, the indication may differ slightlyfrom the actual capacity.NOTE: The first (far left) indicator lamp will blink whenthe battery protection system works.Appliance / battery protectionsystemThe appliance is equipped with the protection system.This system automatically cuts off power to the motorto extend appliance and battery life. The appliance willautomatically stop during operation if the appliance orbattery is placed under one of the following conditions.• Overload protection : When the appliance orbattery is operated in a manner that causes it todraw an abnormally high current, the applianceautomatically stops without any indication. Inthis situation, turn the appliance off and stop theapplication that caused the appliance to becomeoverloaded. Then turn the appliance on to restart.• Overheat protection : When the appliance orbattery is overheated, the appliance automaticallystops. Let the appliance cool down before turningit on again.• Overdischarge protection : When the batterycapacity becomes low, the appliance stops auto-matically. If the appliance does not operate evenwhen the switches are operated, remove thebattery cartridge from the appliance and charge it.OPERATIONCAUTION: The fan is made from polypropyl-ene resin. Some kind of oil agent or chemicalswhich deteriorate resin may break the fan andcause an injury.Starting / stopping the fanPress the power switch button to turn on the fan. Pressthe power switch button again to turn off the fan.Changing wind speedPress the wind speed change button while the fan isrunning. The wind speed increases every time youpress the button. The wind speed will return to thelowest speed when running in the highest speed. Thecordless fan will start in the same speed as the previoussetting.► Fig.4: 1. Wind speed change button |
