5ENGLISHExplanation of general viewSPECIFICATIONS• Due to our continuing program of research and development, the specifications herein are subject to change withoutnotice.• Specifications and battery cartridge may differ from country to country.• Weight, with battery cartridge, according to EPTA-Procedure 01/2003Intended use ENE028-1The tool is intended for performing lengthways andcrossways straight cuts and mitre cuts with angles inwood while in firm contact with the workpiece.CORDLESS CIRCULAR SAWSAFETY WARNINGS GEB060-1Danger:1. Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade.Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle, ormotor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.2. Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guardcannot protect you from the blade below theworkpiece. Do not attempt to remove cut materialwhen blade is moving.CAUTION: Blades coast after turn off. Wait until bladestops before grasping cut material.3. Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of theworkpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade teethshould be visible below the workpiece.4. Never hold piece being cut in your hands oracross your leg. Secure the workpiece to stableplatform. It is important to support the work properlyto minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss ofcontrol.A typical illustration of proper hand support andworkpiece support. (Fig. 1)5. Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaceswhen performing an operation where the cuttingtool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live”wire will also make exposed metal parts of the powertool “live” and shock the operator.6. When ripping always use a rip fence or straightedge guide. This improves the accuracy cut andreduces the chance of blade binding.7. Always use blades with correct size and shape(diamond versus round) of arbour holes. Bladesthat do not match the mounting hardware of the sawwill run eccentrically, causing loss of control.8. Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers orbolt. The blade washers and bolt were speciallydesigned for your saw, for optimum performance andsafety of operation.9. Causes and Operator Prevention of Kickback:- kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound ormisaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled sawto lift up and out of the workpiece toward theoperator;- when the blade is pinched or bound tightly by thekerf closing down, the blade stalls and the motorreaction drives the unit rapidly back toward theoperator;- if the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in thecut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can diginto the top surface of the wood causing the blade toclimb out of the kerf and jump back toward theoperator.Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrectoperating procedures or conditions and can beavoided by taking proper precautions as given below.1.
