10 ENGLISHHow to interpret the output indicator► Fig.9• The output indicator lights up according to thewattage being output.• When the power output reaches 1,400 W(VA), thelamp on “1400” will light up in red. This lamp startsblinking in red when the power converter becomesoverloaded.Turning the buzzer on/off► Fig.10: 1. Beep sound buttonPress and hold the beep sound button to turn on/offbuzzer sound.NOTE: Buzzer setting is memorized. Next time, thepower converter will start with the same setting.Protection systemThe power converter is equipped with the followingprotection system.Overload protectionEach output has overload protection as follows:• AC outputWhen the power converter detects an excessivewattage, the power converter stops all AC outputwith intermittent beep sound.• USB outputWhen the power converter detects an abnormallyhigh current, the power converter cuts off the USBoutput of which high current flows.• DC 12V outputWhen the power converter detects an abnormallyhigh current, the power converter stops DC 12Voutput with intermittent beep sound.If the total output of AC, USB, and DC 12V exceeds therated output of the power converter for a certain period,all the output will be stopped with continuous beepsound. In this situation, turn the power source off andstop the application that caused the power converter tobecome overloaded. Then turn the power source on torestart.NOTE: When the power converter becomes over-loaded, the “1400” lamp of the output indicator blinksin red.NOTE: The beep sound stops by pressing any buttonon the switch panel.Overheat protectionWhen the power converter is overheated, the powerconverter stops all output with continuous beep sounds.In this situation, let the power converter cool beforeturning on again.Overdischarge protectionWhen the remaining capacity of the power source getslow, intermittent beep sounds and the output button atwork blinks. In this situation, remove the power sourceand charge it.When the remaining capacity of the power sourcebecomes even lower, all output will be stopped.MAINTENANCECAUTION: Always be sure that the powersource is removed before attempting to performinspection or maintenance.NOTICE: Do not wash the connector with water.Risk of malfunction.NOTICE: From time to time wipe off the surfaceof this product using a cloth dampened in soapywater.NOTICE: Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation orcracks may result.To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY,repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment shouldbe performed by Makita Authorized or Factory ServiceCenters, always using Makita replacement parts.CleaningIf the power converter is dirty, wipe the power converterwith a dry cloth or cloth dampened in soapy water.FilterCAUTION: After cleaning the filter, be sure tore-install it. Operating the power converter withoutthe filter may cause malfunction.Remove the filter by pulling it out as shown in the figure.Wash the filter, then dry it.► Fig.11: 1. FilterTo install the filter, follow the removing procedure inreverse. |
