8OPERATIONCAUTION:• Make sure all safety systems are in working orderbefore operation.1. Pull the trigger first and then place the contactelement against the workpiece.Fig.11Fig.122. To drive a staple, you may place the contactelement against the workpiece and pull the trigger,orNo. 1 method is for continuous stapling.No. 2 method is for intermittent stapling, when you wishto drive a staple carefully and very accurately.CAUTION:• However when the tool is set to the "IntermittentStaplling" mode, WITH THE TRIGGER HELD IN AHALF-PULLED POSITION, an unexpectedstapling could occur, if contact element is allowedto re-contact against the workpiece or the othersurface under the influence of recoil.In order to avoid this unexpected stapling, performas follows;A. Do not place the contact element against theworkpiece with excessive force.B. Pull the trigger fully and hold it on for 1-2 secondsafter stapling.For No. 2 method, the OPTIONAL SEQUENTIAL TRIPTRIGGER (SINGLE SHOT PART) is used . Replacethe trigger part with this.Direction of exhaust airFig.13The direction of exhaust air can be changed 360degrees of angle by turning the exhaust cover with ahand.Removing jammed staplesWARNING:• Always disconnect the hose before removingstaplers.Remove the staples from the magazine.Lift up the latch on the top of driver guide by hand.Fig.14If the latch cannot be lift up by hand, insert a slotted bitscrewdriver in the gap between the latch and the doorand force it up.Fig.15Open the door and take out staples.Fig.16Place the latch spring on two hooks of the driver guideand return it to its original position by pressing it.Fig.17CAUTION:• If the tip of staple driver has worn, staple jammingand shallow driving will tend to occur. When thisoccurs, have it repaired by Makita AuthorizedService Centers.MAINTENANCECAUTION:• Always disconnect the air hose from the tool beforeattempting to perform inspection or maintenance.Maintenance of staplerAlways check the tool for its overall condition and loosescrews before operation. Tighten as required.Fig.18With tool disconnected, make daily inspection to assurefree movement of the contact element and trigger. Donot use tool if the contact element or trigger sticks orbinds.Fig.19When the tool is not to be used for an extended period oftime, lubricate the tool using pneumatic tool oil and storethe tool in a safe place. Avoid exposure to direct sunlightand/or humid or hot environment.Fig.20Fig.21Maintenance of compressor, air set and airhoseFig.22Fig.23After operation, always drain the compressor tank andthe air filter. If moisture is allowed to enter the tool, Itmay result in poor performance and possible tool failure.Check regularly to see if there is sufficient pneumatic oilin the oiler of the air set. Failure to maintain sufficientlubrication will cause O-rings to wear quickly.Fig.24Keep the air hose away from heat (over 60°C, over140°F), away from chemicals (thinner, strong acids oralkalis). Also, route the hose away from obstacles whichit may become dangerously caught on during operation.Hoses must also be directed away from sharp edgesand areas which may lead to damage or abrasion to thehose. |
