Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces,because the belt may contact its own cord. Cut-ting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts ofthe power tool “live” and could give the operator anelectric shock.2. Ventilate your work area adequately when youperform sanding operations.3. Some material contains chemicals which may betoxic. Take caution to prevent dust inhalationand skin contact. Follow material supplier safetydata.4. Always use the correct dust mask/respirator forthe material and application you are workingwith.5. Always use safety glasses or goggles. Ordinaryeye or sun glasses are NOT safety glasses.6. Hold the tool firmly with both hands.7. Make sure the belt is not contacting the work-piece before the switch is turned on.8. Keep hands away from rotating parts.9. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the toolonly when hand-held.10. MISUSE orfailure to follow the safety rules stated in this instruc-tion manual may cause serious personal injury.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before adjusting or checking function on thetool.Switch action (Fig. 1)CAUTION:• Before plugging in the tool, always check to see thatthe switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the“OFF” position when released.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Releasethe switch trigger to stop.For continuous operation, pull the switch trigger and thenpush in the lock button.To stop the tool from the locked position, pull the switchtrigger fully, and then release it.Speed adjusting dialThe belt speed can be infinitely adjusted between 3.3 mand 16.6 m per second by turning the speed adjustingdial to a given number setting from 1 to 6.Higher speed is obtained when the dial is turned in thedirection of number 6, lower speed is obtained when it isturned in the direction of number 1. Select the properspeed for the workpiece to be sanded.CAUTION:• The speed adjusting dial can be turned only as far as 6and back to 1. Do not force it past 6 or 1, or the speedadjusting function may no longer work.ASSEMBLYCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before carrying out any work on the tool.Installing side grip (Fig. 2)For your own safety, always use the side grip. Install it byscrewing it firmly on the grip holder. The side grip can bepivoted for easy operation. |
