MISUSE orfailure to follow the safety rules stated in this instruc-tion manual may cause serious personal injury.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before adjusting or checking function on thetool.Depth adjustment (Fig. 1, 2 & 3)When you wish to drive self drilling screws, etc., adjustthe depth as follows. Turn the locator to adjust the depth.Initially, adjust the locator to create a distance of approxi-mately 1 mm from the tip of the front cap (which works inconjunction with the locator) to the base of the screwhead. One full turn of the locator equals 1 mm change indepth.After adjusting the locator, turn the adjusting ring so thatthe 6" mark is aligned with the pointer on the gear hous-ing. Drive a trial screw into your material or a piece ofduplicate material. If the depth is not suitable for thescrew, continue adjusting until the proper depth setting isobtained.Switch action (Fig. 4)CAUTION:• Before plugging in the tool, always check to see thatthe switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the“OFF” position when released.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Tool speedis increased by increasing pressure on the switch trigger.Release the switch trigger to stop.For continuous operation, pull the switch trigger and thenpush in the lock button.To stop the tool from the locked position, pull the switchtrigger fully, then release it.NOTE:• Even with the switch on and motor running, the bit willnot rotate until you fit the point of the bit in the screwhead and apply forward pressure to engage the clutch.Reversing switch action (Fig. 5)CAUTION:• Always check the direction of rotation before operation.• Use the reversing switch only after the tool comes to acomplete stop. Changing the direction of rotationbefore the tool stops may damage the tool.This tool has a reversing switch to change the direction ofrotation. Move the reversing switch lever tothe D position (A side) for clockwise rotation or theE position (B side) for counterclockwise rotation. |
