Using DVD-RAM mediaDVD-RAM media are available in single-sided and double-sided versions.To access the data on both sides of a medium, you must remove the medium from the drive, turn it over,and re-insert it into the drive. DVD-RAM media must be removed from the cartridge before using thisdrive.Using CD and DVD mediaTo use CD and DVD media, do the following:1. Turn on the computer.2. Press the Eject button on the front panel of the drive.3. Insert a CD or DVD medium into the disc tray with the label facing up.4. Close the drive by gently closing the disc tray.5. Wait for the drive LED indicator to continually flash.6. Double-click the CD-ROM or DVD-RAM/DVD-R/DVD-RW icon.Using CD-R and CD-RW mediaThe drive can write to both CD-R and CD-RW media. CD-R media cannot be erased, but can be usedwith standard CD-ROM drives and CD players.You can use CD-R media to record audio tracks, store data, archive files, and copy files from another CD.CD-RW media can be erased and rewritten, but can be used only with newer Multi-Read andCD-RW-compatible CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives. You can use CD-RW media to back up, store, andupdate files or to copy files from another CD.Notes:1. CD-R media are playable on audio CD players. CD-RW media are not playable on some audio CDplayers.2. Ultra Speed and Ultra Speed Plus CD-RW media writing is supported.Using DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD-RW mediaThe drive can write to DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW.
