Select the entry for your computer and then follow the instructions on the screen to download and installnecessary software.Getting the latest drivers using preinstalled programsThinkPad notebook computers provide the following preinstalled programs that you can use to downloadand install updated device drivers.• For Windows 7: System Update• For Windows 10: Lenovo VantageThe system update function of System Update or Lenovo Vantage helps you keep the software on yourcomputer up-to-date. Update packages are stored on Lenovo servers and can be downloaded from theLenovo Support Web site. Update packages can contain applications, device drivers, UEFI BIOS flashes, orsoftware updates. When System Update or Lenovo Vantage connects to the Lenovo Support Web site, theprogram automatically recognizes the following information and determines what updates are available foryour computer:• Machine type and model of your computer• Installed operating system• Language of the operating systemSystem Update or Lenovo Vantage then displays a list of update packages and categorizes each update ascritical, recommended, or optional to help you understand the importance. You have complete control ofwhich updates to download and install. After you select the update packages you want, System Update orLenovo Vantage automatically downloads and installs the updates.System Update or Lenovo Vantage is preinstalled on your computer and is ready to run. The onlyprerequisite is an active Internet connection. You can start the program manually, or you can use theschedule feature to enable the program to search for updates automatically at specified intervals. You alsocan predefine scheduled updates to search by the following severity so the list you choose from containsonly those update types that you need:• Critical updates (Windows 7 and Windows 10)• Critical and recommended updates (Windows 7)For more information about how to use System Update or Lenovo Vantage, see the help system of theprogram.Using the ThinkPad Setup programThe ThinkPad Setup program enables you to select the preferred settings for your computer throughconfiguring the BIOS.Configuring ThinkPad SetupThe ThinkPad Setup program menu lists various items about system configuration.Attention: The default configurations are already optimized for you. Improper change of the configurationsmight cause unexpected results.To configure ThinkPad Setup, do the following:1. Restart the computer. When the logo screen is displayed, press F1.
