en Operating andInstallation InstructionUltrasonic heating and cooling meterULTRAHEAT®T23013.06.2017TranslationT230Landis+Gyr GmbH Subject to change without prior notice 13.06.2017 1Note: In the following text, the term meter refers to boththe heat meter and the cooling meter unless they areotherwise differentiated.1. General1.1 UseThe T230 is used as a meter for heating or cooling consump-tion measurement in systems with water. The meter consists of a high-tech plastic volume measurementunit, two temperature sensors connected in a fixed position andan electronic unit that calculates the energy consumption fromthe volume and temperature difference. The meter combines modern microcomputer technology withinnovative ultrasonic measuring technology for which no me-chanically moving parts are necessary. This technology is thus wear free, robust and largely mainte-nance free. High precision and long-term stability guaranteeprecise and equitable cost accounts.Note: The meter cannot be opened without damagingthe security seal.1.2 General notesThe meter left the factory in a faultless condition where safetyis concerned. The manufacturer will provide additional tech-nical support on request. Calibration relevant security seals onthe meter must not be damaged or removed. Otherwise theguarantee and calibration validity of the meter will lapse. Keep the packaging so that you can transport the meter inits original packaging following expiry of the calibration va-lidity. Lay all cables at a minimum distance of 500 mm to highvoltage and high frequency cables. A relative humidity of < 93% at 25 °C is permissible (withoutcondensation). Avoid cavitation in the whole system due to overpressurei.e. at least 1 bar at qp and approx. 2 bar at qs (applies forapprox. 80 °C).2. Safety InformationThe meters may only be used in building serviceengineering plants and only for the applications de-scribed.The local regulations (installation etc.) must be ad-hered to.Adhere to the operating conditions according to thedial plate during use. Non-adherence can cause haz-ards and the guarantee will lapse.Do not under any circumstances carrying out welding, drilling or soldering work close to the meter. The meter is only suitable for circulating water inheating systems. The meter is not suitable for drinking water.Adhere to the AGFW requirements regarding circulat-ing water (FW510).Only personnel, trained in the installation and opera-tion of meters in heating and cooling systems, mayinstall and remove the meter.Only install or remove the meter when the pipes arepressure-less.After installing the meter, check the leak-tightness ofthe system.Guarantee and calibration validity will lapse if thecalibration relevant security seal is broken.Only clean the meter from outside with a soft, lightlywetted cloth. Do not use any spirit or cleaning solvent. As far as disposal is concerned, the meter is a wasteelectronic appliance in the sense of European Di-rective 2012/19/EU (WEEE) and it must not be dis-posed of as domestic waste. The relevant national, legal regulations must be observed as the appliancemust be disposed of via the channels provided for thispurpose. The local and currently valid legislation mustbe observed. The meter contains lithium batteries. Do not dispose ofthe meter and the batteries with domestic waste.Observe the local stipulations and laws on disposal. You can return the lithium batteries to the manufactur-er for appropriate disposal following use. When ship-ping please observe legal regulations, in particular, those governing the labelling and packaging of haz-ardous goods.Do not open the batteries. Do not bring batteries intocontact with water or expose to temperatures above80 °C.The meter does not have any lightning protection.Ensure lightning protection via the in-house installa-tion.3. InstallationTo install the meter proceed as follows: Determine the place of installation in line with the inscrip-tion on the meter.Note: At a heating meter the mounting place of theflow sensor cold side is equivalent to return .The mounting place of the flow sensor hot side isequivalent to flow .Note: At a cooling meter the mounting place of theflow sensor hot side is equivalent to the return .The mounting place of the flow sensor cold side isequivalent to flow . Observe the dimensions of the meter and check whetherthere is sufficient space available. Rinse the system thoroughly before installing the meter. Fit the meter vertically or horizontally between two slidevalves so that the arrow on the housing and the flow direc-tion match. Also observe the installation situations and thefollowing examples of installation.Note: Only use the rubber EPDM flat seals that aresupplied.32 18 101 003 g |
