The purpose of this is toallow for the residual liquid in portafilter to complete the beverage,without going over. You can easily calculate how many grams earlyyou should stop by brewing a shot in mass mode, and subtracting yourtarget from the final mass of the beverage. The difference is a goodstarting point, you may need to adjust depending on your flow rate.• Set “Tare Time”The “Tare Time” parameter sets at what moment the machine will tarethe cup. The goal is to allow you a few seconds after starting the shotin which to place the cup on the scale tray. If the cup is placed on thescale after the tare time, the weight of the cup will be counted towardthe final beverage mass. Also, any coffee that has made it into the cupbefore the tare time will not be counted toward the final beverage mass.Set Group ModeEnter Programming, select mode per group.Brewing with “Continuous”The continuous mode is a manual mode, and will not self-terminate.• Load portafilter to desired dose, engage in group.• Start shot using the continuous button, making sure cup is in placebefore the programmed tare time.• The weight of beverage will appear live on the displayas the shot brews.• Terminate shot manually when desired beverage mass is achieved,by pressing the continuous button again.Brewing in Mass ModeIn mass mode, the brew cycle will terminate once a programmed beverageweight has been reached.• Enter desired target beverage mass in programming.• Load portafilter to desired dose, engage in group.• Start shot using programmed button.• The target weight will display until the tare time, at which point the cupweight will be tared.• The shot will self-terminate when programmed beveragemass is reached.
