Device Usage (Windows Environment)Once the DTL+ has been initialized, you canaccess the secure data partition and utilize thedevice options by logging into the device withyour password. To do so, follow these steps:1. Insert the DTL+ into a USB port on yournotebook or desktop and enter your pass-word (see Figure 4.1.)2. Once you’ve typed your password, click the‘Login’ button to continue.• If the correct password is entered, theDTL+ will unlock and you can beginusing the device.• If an incorrect password is entered, anerror message will appear just belowthe ‘Hint’ field, indicating a loginfailure (see Figure 4.2.)Figure 4.1 – Login WindowDuring the login process, if a bad passwordis entered, you will be given anotheropportunity to enter the correct password;however, there is a built-in security featurethat tracks the number of failed loginattempts *. If this number reaches the pre-configured value of 10 failed attempts, theDTL+ will lock and require a device formatof the secure data partition prior to nextuse.THIS MEANS THAT ALL DATA STOREDON THE DTL+ WILL BE LOST.For more details on this feature, see‘Device Lockout’ on page 20.
