1. PRESENTATIONKingston DataTraveler 2000 USB Key with full-disk AES256-bit data encryption, has restricted access by theuse of a PIN protection. It can be used on any operatingsystem: Windows, OSX or Linux.The PIN code is entered directly on the key’s keypad,there is no software to install.Access to the data is by entering the PIN code. Withoutthe PIN, information is secure and inaccessible.Note : Make sure you never forget your PIN code,otherwise the information on the key will bepermanently lost.2. SETTING UP YOUR KEYNote : Before use, you must charge the key byconnecting it to a USB port for at least 60 minutes.By default, the pin code is 11223344. You mustchange it. To do this:1. Press the key button once.2. Within 10 seconds, enter the default pin code11223344.3. Press the key button once4. Press the key button twice (double click)5. Within 10 seconds, enter the new PIN code(between 7 and 15 digits)6. Press the key button twice (double click)7. Within 10 seconds, enter the new pin code asecond time.8. Press the key button twice (double click)3. AUTHENTICATION -UNLOCKING THE KEY1. Press the key button once2. Enter the user PIN.3. Press the key button once4. You have 30 seconds to connect the key to theUSB port on the workstation.Note: The key will lock automatically if it is notconnected to a USB port within 30 seconds.4. LOCKING THE KEYThe key can be locked in two ways.At your initiative: by pressing the key button for 3seconds.Automatically: when the key is removed from the USBport.5. ENTERING A WRONG USERPIN CODEIf you enter 10 wrong passwords consecutively, thedata stored on the key is automatically andpermanently erased.The default PIN code (11223344) is restored.The key requires reformatting (see 7. Reformatting).6. KEY RESET (IN CASE OFFORGETTING THE PIN CODE)Warning : the data stored on the key will beautomatically and permanently erased.The default PIN code (11223344) will be restored.The key will require reformatting (see 7. Reformatting).1. Press and hold digit 7 and press the key button.Release digit 7 and the key button(alternatively)2. Within 10 seconds, press 3 times digit 9 (tripleclick).3.
