Battery Installation/Replacement (continued)Battery Replacement/Installation InstructionsTo install or replace the batteries in your Kidde unit please per-form the following steps:1. Gently flip openthe lower half ofthe front cover toexpose the batterycompartment.2. Remove the oldbatteries and properlydispose of them asrecommended by thebattery manufacturer(see figure 10).3. Reinstall the new batteries, being careful to seatthe red battery warning flags in the recess of thebattery well. Also, note the polarity illustration inthe bottom of the battery compartment. If applicable, theunit will chirp and display for approximately oneminute and return to normal operation.4. Gently close the bottom cover.
