Typically, thesetransient overvoltages result from switching inductive loads or from nearbylighting strikes.High Energy SourcesThese modules are designed to handle inputs up to their rated currents or theirrated powers, whichever is less. Under certain fault conditions, high energysources could provide substantially more current or power than a module canhandle. It is important to provide external current limiting, such as fuses, if themodule inputs are connected to high energy sources.For the latest specifications, check the Keysight web site at:www.keysight.com/find/pxiswitch.To avoid electric shock, Turn off the chassis and d isconnector de-energize all field wiring to the mod ules beforeinstalling or removing any mod ule or chassis slot cover.Not for connection to mains. If it is necessaryto switch a large ind uctive load, you must add signalcond itioning elements to red uce the potential transientsbefore they reach the mod ules.Install current limiting devices between high energy sources andthe module inputs.
