5 Switch on. THE MACHINE MUST BESWITCHED ON BEFOREADDING THE ICE CREAM ORSORBET RECIPE TO PREVENTTHE MIX FROM IMMEDIATELYFREEZING ON THE INSIDE OFTHE BOWL.6 Use the chute and pour the ice-cream or sorbet mix into the bowl. When pouring mixture into thebowl, always stop at least 2.5cmfrom the top, as the mixture willincrease in volume during freezing.7 Allow the mixture to churn untilfrozen or the desired consistencyis reached, this can take up to 30to 40 minutes, but most recipeswill be ready in less time.important Do not stop and start the machineduring the freezing process, as themixture may freeze in contact withthe bowl and prevent movement ofthe paddle. To avoid overheating the motor,the direction of rotation will changeif the mixture becomes too thick. Ifthe direction of rotation continuesto change, stop the machine asthe mixture is ready. In the unlikely event of the motoroverheating, a safety cut out willoperate causing the motor to stop.If this happens, switch off, unplugthe machine and allow the powerunit to cool.8 Switch off, remove the powerunit/lid by turning anti-clockwise.The ice cream is ready to serve. The ice cream produced should bea soft spoonable type. This can betransferred to a separate containerfor storage in the freezer or if youwish to firm the ice cream beforeeating.important Do not use metal utensils toremove mix from the bowl. Do not remove the bowl fromthe freezer until ready to make icecream.hints We suggest that you keep thebowl in the freezer so that it isready for use. Place in a plasticbag before freezing. Freeze thebowl in the upright position. Always make sure the bowl isthoroughly dry before placing inthe freezer. Do not puncture or heat the bowl. The bowl should be placed in afreezer that is operating at atemperature of -18°C or below for24 hours before use. For best results always refrigeratethe ingredients before making icecream. The addition of alcohol to recipesinhibits the freezing process.cleaning Always switch off , unplug anddismantle before cleaning. Never put the power unit in wateror let the cord or plug get wet. Don’t wash parts in thedishwasherbowl Allow the bowl to reach roomtemperature before attempting toclean.1 Wash the inside of the bowl, thendry thoroughly. Do not immerse inwater.paddle, spindle Remove then separate.1 Wash then dry thoroughly.lid Remove lid from power unit:1 With the lid upside down, pinchone pair of clips together torelease one side of the lid , thenrepeat with the other pair of clips.safety Unplug the machine before fittingor removing parts or cleaning. Keep children away from themachine. And never let the cordhang down where a child couldgrab it. Never use a damaged machine.Get it checked or repaired : see‘service’. Never put the power unit in wateror let the cord or plug get wet -you could get an electric shock. Never use an unauthorisedattachment. Avoid contact with moving parts.Keep hands, hair, clothing ,spatulas and other utensils awayduring operation to reduce the riskof injury to persons and/ordamage to the machine. Do not use outdoors. Never leave the machine onunattended. Don’t let infirm people use themachine without supervision. Don’t let children play with thismachine. Only use the machine for itsintended domestic use. Always make sure everything isthoroughly clean before making icecream or sorbet. Never freeze ice cream that hasfully or partially defrosted. Any ice cream or sorbet etccontaining raw ingredients shouldbe consumed within one week.Ice cream tastes best when fresh,so do not make too far in advance. Ice cream or sorbet etc thatcontains raw egg should not begiven to young children, pregnantwomen or the elderly. To prevent freezer burn, alwaysensure that hands are protectedwhen handling the bowl, especiallywhen first removed from thefreezer. If the freezing solution appears tobe leaking from the bowl,discontinue use. The freezingsolution used is non toxic. Do not place the machine on hotsurfaces such as stoves, hotplatesor near open gas flames.before plugging in Make sure your electricity supply isthe same as the one on theunderside of the power unit.important - UK only The wires in the cord are colouredas follows:Blue = Neutral, Brown = Live. The machine complies withEuropean Economic CommunityDirective 89/336/EEC.before using for the firsttime1 Remove all the packaging .2 Wash the parts: see ‘cleaning’.3 Twenty four hours in advance,place the bowl into a freezer.4 Prepare the ice cream or sorbetmix (see recipe ideas). Allow themix to cool in the refrigerator.key On/off switch Power unit Lid Spindle Paddle Bowlto use your ice-creammaker1 Slide the power unit onto the liduntil it locks in place, the clips onthe underside will click into place.2 Place the spindle into the powerunit, then attach the paddle.3 Remove the bowl from the freezer.4 Lower the assembled unit onto thebowl and turn the power unit/lidclockwise to lock into position. |
