Keene ElectronicsRF ModulatorOperating instructionsOverviewBy converting video and audiosignals to an RF signal, the Keene RFModulator allows the AV output of acamcorder or other device to be fedto a standard television receiverthrough its aerial socket.Typical applications include theconnection of a camcorder, videorecorder or SAT receiver to atelevision set which has only astandard aerial input; it can also be used to feed the signal froma TV surveillance camera into a domestic cable installation. The Keene RF Modulator will handle VHS, VHS-C and video 8signals, as well as composite colour signals, with mono sound.Connection and operation• Make sure all devices are switched off before connecting.• Connect the ‘audio’ output (often a black/white RCA phonosocket) of the source (output) device to the ‘audio in’ (RCAphono socket) of the RF Modulator. If the output deviceprovides stereo audio, ie there are two audio out sockets, connect the left (L) audio channel only.• Connect the ‘video’ output (normally a yellow RCA phonosocket) of the source device to the ‘video in’ (RCA phonosocket) of the RF Modulator.• Connect the ‘RF out’ lead of the RF modulator to the TV aerialsocket. If a TV aerial is to be connected simultaneously, thena selector adaptor will be required.1Keene RF through modulatorDesigned to be put in-line with aerial in and out connections, thevideo and audio signal can then be put into any UHF channel(from 30 – 40) desired. Idealfor use with CCTV securitycameras and VCRs without RFoutput. Supplied completewith either UK style mainsadaptor (order code KRFT) orEuro style mains adaptor(order code KRFTE).5Keene distribution amplifier4 way composite or S-video plus audio, each outputindistinguishable from the input, ideal for making up to foursimultaneous multiple copies. Uniquely the Keene DistributionAmp also has aswitchable line drivefeature, giving theability to send audioand/or video overmuch longer cable runsthan normally possible(up to 100m dependanton cable). It works byapplying a signal boostwith emphasis on higher frequencies anduse of wideband ICs with very low outputimpedance. Supplied complete with eitherUK style mains adaptor (order code KDA)or Euro style mains adaptor (order codeKDAE).6Keene wideband through modulatorOur RF wideband modulator enables a camcorder, securitycamera, VCR or other device with AV (audio video) output to beconnected to the aerial socket of a TV. If required, it can bepermanently connected into the RF aerial downlead. The AVsignal can be positioned on any vacant RF channel between 21and 69. This means, for example, that the signal from a securitycamera could be introduced into the aerial lead and viewed inthe same way, and as easily, as any normal broadcast signal. Anadditional feature of the Keene unit is that because it uses dipswitches, the settings will be saved in the event of a powerfailure. Suppliedcomplete with clip-inbracket for skirtingboard/loft mounting andeither UK style mainsadaptor (order codeKRFTW) or Euro stylemains adaptor (ordercode KRFTWE).Keene Scart Distribution AmplifierOne input to five outputs, fully buffered using broadcast gradevideo amplification ICs. Pin 8 is routed through (if the input goeshigh all the outputs go high) and every pin connection is carriedthrough making it suitable for composite, S-video and evenRGB. Supplied in a robust metal case this is ideal for displayingone signal on multiple TVs or for making up to fivesimultaneous copiesfrom one source.Supplied completewith either UK stylemains adaptor (ordercode SDA) or Eurostyle mains adaptor(order code SDAE).Other video products from Keene Electronics |
