1313Observe the following points to increase the servicelife of your Pedelec battery:› Make sure that the battery is ully charged beforeyou ride your bike for the irst time or if you havenot used it for a while.› You should run the battery all the way down toempty for the irst three charging cycles. This al-lows the battery to reach its maximum capacity.If you continuously run the battery to empty duringnormal operation, this reduces its service life.If you partially recharge the battery requently dur-ing normal operation, this has a favourable efecton its service life.› You should therefore partially recharge the batterywhenever possible: Try not to run the battery allthe way down to empty and recharge it even atershort periods of operation.› If you are having problems with the battery, placeit in the charger for one minute. This resets the bat-tery. Ater this, the battery will work again.› Ideally you should charge the battery at a tempera-ture of between +10°C and +30°C. It takes longerto charge the battery at low temperatures, thebattery will not charge up at temperatures higherthan +30°C. Ideally, you should charge and storethe battery inside your house or in a warm garagewhen the outside temperature is low. In this caseyou should only it the battery on your bike justbefore using it.› If you are transporting your Pedelec by car, takethe battery out of its holder and transport itseparately.› The battery should ideally be stored for longerperiods with a charge of between 50% and 75% ata temperature of +10°C.Charging times at diferent temperaturesBattery may bedamagedOptimum temperaturerange for chargingprocessLong charging times-10 °C 0 °C 10 °C 20 °C 30 °C 40 °C 50 °C7.4 Battery information systemThere is a display panel on the top of the battery whichcontains four LEDs and a button. The LEDs light up if youpress the button. Information about the battery and itscharge state is provided based on the number of LEDs thatlight up and the way in which they light up.7.5 Battery charge statePress the switch on the battery briely to activate the LEDsand see the current battery charge state.Charge state indicatorDISPLAY BATTERY CHARGE STATE•••• 4 LEDs light up 100 – 75%••• 3 LEDs light up 75 – 50%•• 2 LEDs light up 50 – 25%• 1 LED lights up 25 – 0%› If the battery is empty, it will work once againbriely following a short period of rejuvenation andwill then switch back of.
