KHB 604 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION SHEETGB FR PT ZA5019 619 01371/AWARRANTYWARRANTY GIVEN AND UNDERTAKEN BY WHIRLPOOLSOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD IN RESPECT OF THEWHIRLPOOL COOLING PRODUCT PURCHASED BY ACLIENTWHIRLPOOL South Africa (PTY) LTD (ìWHIRLPOOLî)warrants to the original purchaser (ìthe clientî) of the productidentifies by the serial number found on the label situated onthe product for a period of 24 months from the date ofpurchase shall be free of defects in materials and workmanshipunder normal use and service. The warranty is given subject tothe following provisions:1. WHIRLPOOL shall be entitled at its sole option anddiscretion to either replace or repair any defective materialsand / or workmanship.2. WHIRLPOOL shall, carry out such warranty repair orreplacement work itself or at its option through an authorisedservice partner free of charge provided that if the product issituated in excess of a 50 kilometre radius from the nearestWHIRLPOOL outlet or authorised service partner, then theclient shall be liable to pay for excess including any returnjourney at a rate per kilometre as is usually or normally byWHIRLPOOL.3. The client must provide Whirlpool or its nominated ServicePartner upon request with sufficient proof of the date andplace of purchase of the product.Should the client be unable to provide such proof, the clientwill be obliged to pay normal and standard charges toWhirlpool and / or its Service partner.4. Should WHIRLPOOL or its authorised service partnerdetermine that a defect or malfunction in the product hasbeen used solely or partly by the negligent acts, omissions,abuse or misuse of the operator of the product or by aninstallation not in accordance with the instruction manual,then, unless the client can show otherwise, the client shall beliable for the cost of the repair and / or replacement includingall travelling expenses thereby incurred5. The warranty does not apply in the event a product isnot in normal single family domestic use, but used forcommercial, industrial or other purpose for which itwas not designed.6. Whirlpool shall not under any circumstances whatsoever beliable for damages sustained due to failure of operation ormalfunction of products nor for consequential damage ofwhatsoever nature, howsoever arising.7. The warranty applies only to products whilst they are situatedand used within the Republic of South Africa, Swaziland,Lesotho, Botswana and Namibia.8. Any part replaced in terms of this warranty shall become theproperty of WHIRLPOOL or its authorised service partner.9. In the event the sale of the product was subject to specialCredit Agreements Act WHIRLPOOL warrants that theproduct shall be free of latent defects and WHIRLPOOL shallat its sole option repair the product as a consequence of suchdefects rendering the product inoperable provided that:9.1.the client notifies WHIRLPOOL in writing immediately onbecoming aware of such defects; and9.2.the client at their cost delivers the producl to the nearestWHIRLPOOL outlet.10. WHIRLPOOL or its nominated independent contractorwarrant that any repairs effected or parts replaced in terms ofthis warranty will be free from defective parts orworkmanship for the remaining period only of the originalwarranty period as stipulated in clause 1.11. WHIRLPOOL reserves the right to require a client to furnishWHIRLPOOL with a deposit equal to an amount determinedby WHIRLPOOL or it authorised service partner prior toservicing the product during the warranty period whichdeposit shall be refunded by WHIRLPOOL to the client shouldthe defect, failure or malfunction of the product be coveredand / or provided for by the provisions of this warranty.YOUR APPLIANCE PARTNERWhen it comes to caring for and servicing your appliance youcan rest assured that itís in good hands.
