- 2The owner and/or user must have an un-derstanding of the manufacturer’s operat-ing instructions and warnings before usingthis pressure washer.Warning information should be empha-sized and understood.If the operator is not fluent in English, themanufacturer’s instructions and warningsshall be read to and discussed with the op-erator in the operator’s native language bythe purchaser/owner, making sure that theoperator comprehends its contents.Owner and/or user must study and main-tain for future reference the manufacturers’instructions.Before starting to operate the unit be in op-erating position.Do not start or operate the unit, any of itsfunctions or attachments, from any placeother than from the designated operatorsposition.Before leaving the operator’s position:A bring the unit to a complete stop;B if the unit must be on an incline, blockthe wheels.Maintain a safe distance from the edge oframps, platforms, and other similar workingsurfaces.Do not add to, or modify the unit.Do not block access to fire aisles, stairwaysor fire equipment.Yield the right of way to pedestrians andemergency vehicles such as ambulancesand fire trucks.Cross railroad tracks at an angle whereverpossible. Do not park closer than 6 ft (1800mm) to the nearest rail of a railroad track.Keep a clear view of the path of travel andobserve for other traffic, personnel, andsafe clearances.Under all travel conditions, operate the unitat a speed that will permit it to be brought toa stop in a safe manner.Do not indulge in stunt driving or horseplay.Slow down for wet and slippery floors.Before driving over a dock board or bridgeplate, be sure that it is properly secured.Drive carefully and slowly across the dockboard or bridge plate, and never exceed itsrated capacity.When negotiating turns, reduce speed to asafe level consistent with the operating en-vironment. Make the turns smoothly.If the unit is found to be in need of repair orin any way unsafe, or contributes to an un-safe condition, the matter shall be reportedimmediately to the user’s designated au-thority, and the unit shall not be operateduntil it has been restored to safe operatingcondition.If during operation the unit becomes unsafein any way, the matter shall be reported im-mediately to the user’s designated authori-ty, and the unit shall not be operated until ithas been restored to safe operating condi-tion.Do not make repairs or adjustments unlessspecifically authorized to do so.Operation of the unit may be hazardous ifmaintenance is neglected or repairs, re-builds, or adjustments are not performed inaccordance with the manufacturer’s designcriteria. Therefore, maintenance facilities(on or off premises), trained personnel, anddetailed procedures shall be provided.Maintenance and inspection of the unitshall be performed in conformance with thefollowing practices:A a schedules planned maintenance, lu-brication, and inspection system shallbe followed; consult the manufacturer’srecommendations.B Only trained and authorized personsshall be permitted to operate a poweredfloor scrubber. Operators of poweredfloor scrubbers shall be qualified as tovisual, auditory, physical, and mentalability to operate the equipment safely.Avoid fire hazards and have fire protectionequipment present in the work area. Do notuse open pans of fuel or flammable clean-ing fluids for cleaning parts.Any unit not in safe operating conditionshall be removed from service.Repairs shall not be made in Class I, ClassII, and Class III locations.Fire Prevention.The unit shall be kept in aclean condition and reasonably free of lint,excess oil, and grease. Noncombustibleagents are preferred for cleaning the unit.Flammable liquids [those having flashpoints at or above 100°F (37,8°C)] are notallowed. Precautions regarding toxicity,ventilation, and fire hazard shall be appro-priate for the agent or solvent used.Nameplate Visibility. The unit type desig-nations as shown on the nameplate and thetype markers shall not be covered over withpaint so that their identification informationis obscured.Please read and comply withthese original instructions priorto the initial operation of your appliance andstore them for later use or subsequent own-ers.Before using the appliance for the first time,read and observe these operating instruc-tions and the accompanying brochure:Safety information for brush cleaning unitsand spray-extraction units, No. 5.956-251.The appliance must only be operated onsurfaces that do not exceed the max. per-mitted incline (see "Technical Specifica-tions").The appliance may only be operatedwhen the hood and all lids are closed.Remove the Intelligent Key (emergencystop) to take all functions out of opera-tion immediately.The appliance must only be operated onsurfaces that do not exceed the max. per-mitted incline (see "Technical Specifica-tions").
