Preparing the Speaker Cable1. Determine the length ofwire necessary to connectyour amplifier to the speakerthat is farthest away.Remember to allow for extracable to be able to conceal itunder baseboards, or run itaround corners.2. Keep both cable lengthsthe same in order to helpmaintain proper signalbalance and imaging.3. Separate about one inch ofthe two conductors that makeup each cable. Then strip offabout 3/8" of insulation.4. Twist each conductor’s thinwires into a tightly bunchedspiral.5. Identify a differencebetween the two conductors. This may be done in variousways, depending upon thetype and brand of cable youare using.• Different color wire• A strand of thread in oneconductor• A colored line on one con-ductor’s outer insulation• Raised ribs on one conduc-tor’s outer insulation• A printed (+) marking onone of the insulatorsSome of the More Common Differentiating Marks for Conductors Are:The terminals on the SVA Seriesloudspeakers can accept severaltypes of speaker cable connections.Remember to connect the red (+)terminal on the receiver/amplifierto the red (+) terminal on thespeaker and the black (–) terminalon the receiver/amplifier to theblack (–) terminal on the speaker. – +– ++2dB0dBHigh FrequencyHFLF – +– ++2dB0dBHigh FrequencyHFLFBare wire connecting method.
