17OPERATION2. Lower the mower deck to the correct cuttingheight.3. Move throttle control to full throttle (rabbitsymbol).4. Engage the mower deck by pulling the bladeswitch up.WARNING! Make sure that no one isnear mower when engaging blade switch.5. Pull control levers inward and slowly movethe two control levers slightly forward to moveforward in a straight line.Stopping the Engine1. Move the throttle to the minimum position(tortoise symbol).2. Move the steering controls at the same timeout to the park brake position.3. Disengage the mower deck by pushing theblade switch down.4. Raise the mower deck to the highest position.If the engine has been worked hard, let itidle at least 60 seconds to become the usualoperating temperature before stopping. Toprevent fouling the spark plugs, do not idle theengine for longer periods.5. Turn the ignition key to the stop position.Remove key. Always remove key whenleaving the mower to prevent unauthorizeduse.IMPORTANT INFORMATION When stoppingand leaving the machine, the two steering /park brake controls must be moved out to thelocked position at the same time.IMPORTANT INFORMATION Leaving theignition switch in a position than OFF will causethe battery to be discharged.3. Disengage the mower blades by pushing theblade switch down.4. Move the steering / park brake controls firmlyout to the locked position.5. Move the throttle lever to the middle throttleposition. If the engine is cold, the chokecontrol should be pulled up.6. Push in and turn the ignition key to the startposition.IMPORTANT INFORMATION Do notoperate the starter for more than five secondseach time. If the engine does not start, waitapproximately ten seconds before retrying.7. When the engine starts, immediately releasethe ignition key back to the run position.8. Set the engine speed with the throttle. Letthe engine to operate at a moderate speed,approximately middle throttle, for a short timebefore use. USE FULL THROTTLE WHENMOWING.Running1. Release the park brake by pulling the steering/ park brake controls in to the neutral positionat the same time.NOTE: The mower is equipped with anoperator presence system. If the operatortries to leave the seat with the engine running,without first engaging the park brake, theengine will shut off. |
