This appliance containshydrocarbons in its coolingunit; maintenance andrecharging must thereforeonly be carried out byauthorized technicians.The accessories and parts ofthe appliance are notsuitable for washing in adishwasher.6.2 Periodic cleaningCAUTION!Do not pull, move ordamage any pipes and/orcables inside the cabinet.CAUTION!Take care of not to damagethe cooling system.CAUTION!When moving the cabinet,lift it by the front edge toavoid scratching the floor.The equipment has to be cleanedregularly:1. Clean the inside and accessories withlukewarm water and some neutralsoap.2. Regularly check the door seals andwipe clean to ensure they are cleanand free from debris.3. Rinse and dry thoroughly.4. If accessible, clean the condenserand the compressor at the back ofthe appliance with a brush.This operation will improve theperformance of the appliance andsave electricity consumption.6.3 Cleaning the ice makerWhen necessary, clean the surfaces ofthe dispenser and the ice container thatare accessible from the outside, usingonly a soft cloth and warm water.Ensure that the ice container isthoroughly dry before being refitted.CAUTION!Do not use detergents orabrasive paste.6.4 Defrosting the freezerThe freezer compartment is frost free.This means that there is no build up offrost when it is in operation, neither onthe internal walls nor on the foods.The absence of frost is due to thecontinuous circulation of cold air insidethe compartment, driven by anautomatically controlled fan.6.5 Periods of non-operationWhen the appliance is not in use for longperiods, take the following precautions:1. Switch off the ice maker.2. Turn off the water connection.3. Empty the ice container.4. Disconnect the appliance fromelectricity supply.5. Remove all food.6. Clean the appliance and allaccessories.7. Leave the door/doors open toprevent unpleasant smells.When the ice maker starts again, do notuse ice produced during the first day toensure fresh taste.WARNING!If the cabinet will be kept on,ask somebody to check itonce in a while to preventthe food inside from spoilingin case of a power failure.6.6 Cleaning the ventilationgrilleMake sure the door is open.The ventilation grille can be removed forwashing.1.
