Silica is a basiccomponent of sand, quartz, brick clay,granite and numerous other mineralsand rocks. Exposure to excessiveamount of such dust can cause:Respiratory disease (affecting yourability to breath), including chronicbronchitis, silicosis and pulmonaryfibrosis from exposure to silica. Thesediseases may be fatal;Skin irritation and rash.Cancer according to NTP* and IARC* */National Toxicology Program,International Agency for Research onCancerTake precautionary steps:Avoid inhalation of and skin contact withdust, mist and fumes.Wear and ensure that all bystanders wearappropriate respiratory protection suchas dust masks designed to filter outmicroscopic particles.
