OPERATING8 – EnglishPersonal safety• Wear personal protective equipment. See instructionsunder the ”Personal protective equipment” heading.• Never use the machine if you are tired, if you havedrunk alcohol, or if you are taking medication thatcould affect your vision, your judgement or your co-ordination.• Never allow anyone else to use the machine withoutfirst ensuring that they have read and understood thecontents of the operator’s manual.• All operators shall be trained in the use of themachine. The owner is responsible for ensuring thatthe operators receive training.• People and animals can distract you causing you tolose control of the machine. For this reason, alwaysremain concentrated and focused on the task. Neverallow children to use or be in the vicinity of themachine.• Be careful as clothing, long hair, and jewellery can getcaught in moving parts.• There is always a risk of crush injuries when workingwith products containing moving parts. Keep yourdistance!• Never leave the machine unsupervised with the motorrunning.• Make sure that there is always another person closeat hand when you use the machines, so that you cancall for help if an accident should occur.• Always ensure you have a safe and stable workingposition.Personal protective equipment• Hearing protection• Protective goggles or a visor• Breathing mask• Heavy-duty, firm grip gloves.• Tight-fitting, heavy-duty and comfortable clothing thatpermits full freedom of movement.• Boots with steel toe-caps and non-slip sole.• Always have a first aid kit nearby.Use and care• Only use the machine for the purpose it was intendedfor.• Keep all parts in good working order and ensure thatall fixtures are properly tightened.• Never use a machine that is faulty. Carry out the safetychecks, maintenance and service instructionsdescribed in this manual. Some maintenance andservice measures must be carried out by trained andqualified specialists. See instructions under theMaintenance heading.• Do not modify safety equipment. Check regularly thatthey function as they should. The machine must notbe run with defective or disassembled safetyequipment.• Never use a machine that has been modified in anyway from its original specification.• Always use genuine accessories. Contact your dealerfor more information.• Machinery should only be started when grindingheads are resting on the ground unless carrying out atesting procedure as outlined in this manual.• The machine should not be started without the brushlist attached. It is essential a good seal betweenmachine and floor be established for safety, especiallywhen operating in dry grinding applications.• During grinding, the machine must be connected to avacuum cleaner for the removal of the dust.• Make sure the machine is without power whenchanging diamond tools by pressing in the emergencystop and disconnecting from the power outlet.• Always dismantle the diamond tool after each grindingoperation.! WARNING! Overexposure to vibrationcan lead to circulatory damage or nervedamage in people who have impairedcirculation. Contact your doctor if youexperience symptoms of overexposureto vibration. Such symptoms includenumbness, loss of feeling, tingling,pricking, pain, loss of strength, changesin skin colour or condition. Thesesymptoms normally appear in thefingers, hands or wrists. Thesesymptoms may be increased in coldtemperatures.! WARNING! You must use approvedpersonal protective equipment wheneveryou use the machine. Personal protectiveequipment cannot eliminate the risk ofinjury but it will reduce the degree ofinjury if an accident does happen. Askyour dealer for help in choosing the rightequipment.
