Steering Control LeversThe machine’s speed and direction arecontinuously variable using the two steeringcontrols. The steering controls can be movedforward or back about a neutral position. There isa neutral position, which is locked if the steeringcontrols are moved out. When both controls are in the neutral position (N),the machine stands still. By equally moving bothcontrols forward or backward, the machine movesin a straight line forward or backward. For example, to turn right while moving forward, move the right control towards the neutralposition. The rotation of the right wheel is reducedand the machine turns to the right.Zero turn can be achieved by moving one controlbackward (behind the neutral position) andcarefully moving the other steering control forwardfrom its neutral position. The rotation directionwhen zero turning is determined by whichsteering control is moved backward behind theneutral position. If the left steering control is pulledbackward, the machine turns to the left. Use morecare when using this maneuver. If the steering controls are in uneven positionswhen standing still or do not fit in the slots formoving the controls out, they can be adjusted.WARNING! The machine can turn veryfast if one steering control is moved muchfurther forward than the other.Throttle ControlThe throttle controls the engine speed and therate of rotation of the blades, assuming the bladeswitch is pulled out.The control is moved forward or back to increaseor decrease the engine speed. To prevent the risk of fouling the spark plugs, donot idle the engine for long periods. USE FULLTHROTTLE WHEN MOWING, for best mowerperformance and battery charging.Ignition SwitchThe ignition switch is used to start and stop theengine. On models with headlights, turn the keyclockwise to ACCESSORY for headlight use.Choke ControlThe choke control is used for cold starts to givethe engine a richer fuel mixture. For cold starts, pull the control up.13CONTROLS
