OPERATION288. Press in and turn the ignition key to the startposition.8058-216Set the throttle8050-780Turn to the start position8050-781Return to run position9. When the engine starts, immediately release theignition key back to the run position.10. Slowly push in the choke control knob, if it wasused to start a cold engine.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONDo not run the starter for more than 5 secondseach time. If the engine does not start, waitabout 10 seconds before retrying.WARNING!Engine exhaust and certain vehiclecomponents contain or emit chemicalsconsidered to cause cancer, birthdefects or other reproductive systemdamage. The engine exhaust containscarbon monoxide, which is an odorless,colorless, poisonous gas. Do not use themachine in enclosed spaces.11. Set the engine speed with the throttle. Allow theengine to run at a moderate speed, approximatelymid throttle, for 3-5 minutes before loading it tooheavily. USE FULL THROTTLE WHEN MOWING(no choke).
