16CONT ROLSFuel TankWARNING! Gasoline is highly flammable.Observe caution and fill the tank outdoors (seethe safety section).WARNING! Fill to bottom of filler neck.Do not overfill. Wipe off spilled oil or fuel. Donot store, spill or use gasoline near an openflame.Read the safety instructions before refueling. Thecapacity for the tank is 5 gallons.Regularly check the gas cap gasket for damageand keep the cap properly tightened. The engine will run on a minimum of 87-octaneunleaded gasoline (no oil mix). Environmentallyadapted alkylate gasoline can be used. SeeTechnical Data concerning ethanol fuel. Methanolfuel is not allowed. Do not use E85 alcohol basedfuel. Damage to the engine and components mayoccur. When operating in temperatures below (32°F)0°C, use fresh, clean winter grade gasoline tohelp insure good cold weather starting.IMPORTANT INFORMATION Experienceindicates that alcohol blended fuels (calledgasohol, ethanol or methanol) can attractmoisture which leads to separation andformation of acids during storage. Acidic gascan damage the fuel system of an engine whilein storage. To avoid engine problems, the fuelsystem must be emptied before storage of 30days or longer. Drain the gas tank, start theengine and let it run until the fuel lines andcarburetor are empty. Use fresh fuel the nextseason. See Storage for more information. Donot use engine or carburetor cleaners in thefuel tank or permanent damage may occur.WARNING! The engine and the exhaustsystem, become very hot during operation. There is a risk for burns if touched. Let engineand exhaust system to cool before refueling.Hydro Release LeversTransaxle bypass linkages must be engagedwhen pushing or pulling the mower. The releaselevers are located on each side of the rear of theunit below the rear engine plate. See ManualTransport in the Operation section.WARNING! Bypass linkages are locatedclose to the muffler. To prevent burns, theengine should be shut off and allowed to coolbefore the bypass linkage levers are handled.
