-15-Lock Nut and Backing FlangeYour tool is equipped with a threadedspindle for mounting accessories. Alwaysuse the supplied backing flange and quick-clamping nut or the original lock nut (whichyou can buy separately), that has the samethread size as the spindle. Backing flange iskeyed to output shaft (Fig. 3). If you use theoriginal lock nut, always make sure that thelock nut is tightened correctly with thesupplied wrench.Disc Grinding WheelAssemblyTO ATTACH GRINDING WHEEL (FIG. 3)1.Disconnect battery pack from tool.2.Be sure that wheel guard is in place forgrinding.3.Place backing flange and grinding wheel onthe spindle. Make sure the backing flangelocks into the base of the spindle.4.Thread on the quick-clamping nut. Whileholding the spindle lock, tighten nut usingthe fold-up bar.TO REMOVE: Reverse procedure.WHEN USING SPIN-ON WHEELSFollow steps 1 & 2, then thread wheeldirectly onto spindle without using thesupplied flanges. Always make sure that thespin-on wheel is tightened correctly with anopen-end wrench (not supplied).TO REMOVE: Reverse procedure.All parts of a spin-on wheel must be withinlip of grinding guard (Fig. 4).
