• Maintain power tools and accessories. Check formisalignment or binding of moving parts, breakageof parts and any other condition that may affect thepower tool´s operation. If damaged, have the powertool repaired before use. Many accidents are causedby poorly maintained power tools.• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properlymaintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges areless likely to bind and are easier to control.• Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. inaccordance with these instructions, taking intoaccount the working conditions and the work to beperformed. Use of the power tool for operationsdifferent from those intended could result in ahazardous situation.• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean andfree from oil and grease. Slippery handles andgrasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling andcontrol of the tool in unexpected situations.Service• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repairperson using only identical replacement parts. Thiswill ensure that the safety of the power tool ismaintained.Drill safety warnings - for handheldoperationSafety instructions for all handheld operations• Use the auxiliary handle(s). Loss of control cancause personal injury.• Do not drill handheld from a ladder or a scaffold.• Make sure you stand firmly.• Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces,when performing an operation where the cuttingaccessory may contact hidden wiring or its owncord.Cutting accessory contacting a "live" wire maymake exposed metal parts of the power tool "live"and could give the operator an electric shock.Safety instructions when using long drill bits• Never operate at higher speed than the maximumspeed rating of the drill bit.At higher speeds, the bitis likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely withoutcontacting the workpiece, resulting in personal injury.• Always start drilling at low speed and with the bit tipin contact with the workpiece. At higher speeds, thebit is likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely withoutcontacting the workpiece, resulting in personal injury.• Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit and donot apply excessive pressure. Bits can bend causingbreakage or loss of control, resulting in personalinjury.Diamond drill safety warnings• When performing drilling that requires the use ofwater, route the water away from the operator's workarea or use a liquid collection device. Suchprecautionary measures keep the operator's workarea dry and reduce the risk of electrical shock.• Operate power tool by insulated grasping surfaces,when performing an operation where the cuttingaccessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.Cutting accessory contacting a "live" wire may makeexposed metal parts of the power tool "live" andcould give the operator an electric shock.• Wear hearing protection when diamond drilling.Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.• When the bit is jammed, stop applying downwardpressure and turn off the tool. Investigate and takecorrective actions to eliminate the cause of the bitjamming.• When restarting a diamond drill in the workpiece,check that the bit rotates freely before starting. If thebit is jammed, it may not start, may overload the tool,or may cause the diamond drill to release from theworkpiece.• When the drilling through walls, ensure to protectpersons and the work area on the other side.
