English - 55ENGLISH2.2 FunctionCapacityThe robotic lawnmower is recommended for lawns up to• 600 m2: Automower® 105• 1000 m2: Automower® 310• 1500 m2: Automower® 315• 2200 m2: Automower® 420• 3200 m2: Automower® 430X• 5000 m2: Automower® 450XHow big an area the robotic lawnmower can keep cut depends primarilyon the condition of the blades and the type, growth and moisture of thegrass. The shape of the garden is also significant. If the garden mainlyconsists of open lawn areas, the robotic lawnmower can mow more perhour than if the garden consists of several small lawns separated bytrees, flower beds and passages.A fully charged robotic lawnmower mows for 60 to 260 minutes, depen-ding on model, the age of the battery and how thick the grass is. Thenthe robotic lawnmower will charge for 50 to 90 minutes. The chargingtime can vary depending on, among other factors, the ambient tempera-ture.Mowing techniqueThe cutting system in the Husqvarna robotic lawnmower is based on anefficient and energy saving principle. Unlike many standard lawnmo-wers, the robotic lawnmower cuts the grass instead of knocking it off.We recommend you allow the robotic lawnmower to mainly mow in dryweather to obtain the best possible result. Husqvarna’s robotic lawnmo-wers can also mow in the rain, however, wet grass easily sticks on therobotic lawnmower and there is a greater risk of slipping on steep slo-pes.The blades must be in good condition to obtain the best mowing result. In order to keep the blades sharp for as long as possible it is importantto keep the lawn free from branches, small stones and other objectswhich can damage the blades. Replace the blades regularly. For infor-mation on replacing the blades, see the complete Operator’s Manual onHusqvarna’s website.Working methodCarry out a correct and safe installation of the loop and guide wire. Formore information about the installation, see the complete Operator’sManual on Husqvarna’s website. The robotic lawnmower automatically mows the lawn. It continuouslyalternates between mowing and charging. The robotic lawnmower starts to search for the charging station whenthe battery charge becomes too low. The robotic lawnmower does notmow when it is searching for the charging station. When the battery is fully charged, the robotic lawnmower will leave thecharging station and start mowing in a place in the garden where it hasnot been lately. The place is decided by the built-in GPS-receiver. Thisfunction is for Automower® 430X and 450X only. For the other modelsyou might have to set manual exit settings to make sure that the lawnwill be cut evenly, see chapter 6 Menu functions in the completeOperator’s Manual on Husqvarna’s website. When the robotic lawnmower body hits an obstacle, the robotic lawnmo-wer reverses and selects a new direction.Sensors at the front and back will sense when the robotic lawnmower isapproaching the boundary wire. The robotic lawnmower travels up to 28centimeters beyond the wire for Automower® 105 and up to 32 centimet-res beyond the wire for Automower® 310/315/420/430X/450X before itturns around. The STOP button on the top of the robotic lawnmower is mainly used tostop the robotic lawnmower when it’s running. When the STOP button ispressed a hatch opens, behind which there is a control panel. The STOPbutton remains pressed in until the hatch is closed again. This togetherwith the START button acts as a start inhibitor. The control panel on the top of the robotic lawnmower is where youmanage all the robotic lawnmower settings. When the main switch is set to 1 for the first time, a start-up sequencebegins which includes a number of important basic settings, see 3.8 Firststart-up and calibration in the complete Operator’s Manual onHusqvarna’s website.Movement patternThe movement pattern of the robotic lawnmower is random and is deter-mined by the robotic lawnmower itself. A movement pattern is neverrepeated. With this cutting system the lawn is mown very evenly withoutany mowing lines from the robotic lawnmower.Finding the charging stationThe Automower® 310/315/420/430X/450X can be set to search for thecharging station in one or more of three different ways. The robotic lawn-mower automatically combines these three search methods to locate thecharging station as fast as possible but also to avoid as much tracks for-ming as possible. Automower® 105 always follows the guide wire to thecharging station.2.3 Adjusting the cutting heightIf the grass is long, allow the robotic lawnmower to start mowing at theMAX cutting height. Once the grass is shorter, you can gradually lowerthe cutting height.Automower 105 Automower 310/315/420/430X/450XIMPORTANT INFORMATIONDuring the first week after a new installation, the cuttingheight must be set to MAX to avoid damaging the loop wire. After this, the cutting height can be lowered one step everyweek until the desired cutting height has been reached.1157864-39_SLIM_HQ_105-450_DEFRITEN_r2.indd 55 2016-02-19 16:09:12 |
